Update as of today:

I am taking bereavement leave from work until Thursday. Several coworkers and friends have reached out and helped with the loss of my mother. I will not stop living life due to her loss, my mom wouldn't want that to happen. I have gone on several long walks and it has helped to put everything in perspective.

I will attend the two Wrigley shows and dedicating those two shows to her memory. Hopefully the band will play one of the requests.

Hi Gene. I’m so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. You’re story is so familiar to me. My mom fought cancer for about 18 months. I thought she was recovering and then, in what felt like the blink of an eye, she was in the hospital and I was saying goodbye.

There was some shock to it and I remember being in a weird state for a few weeks. Happy that she wasn’t suffering any more but in denial that I would never see her again. Ten years later I miss her every single day.

I makes me self-conscious to write this but I have been thinking of you these last few days. I just wanted to send you a general feeling of empathy, compassion, and love in hopes it might help you through this time in your life.

Thanks for those words and thinking of me about my mother. My mom was sick earlier this year and we weren't sure what it was, but thought she was getting better and flew her to South Korea for treatment and then she passed away in a heartbeat not wanting to fight any longer.

I'm still in grief over it, but I know that I will miss her all the time when I spent time with my mom and dad and mom is in a better place with her star shining bright.

Update:

Still in mourning over my mother's passing and the pain will never fully go away, but it's time to start living life again. She wouldn't want me to not try and enjoy life again.

It'll hit hard when I visit my father in Spokane and my mom isn't there next to him. Come on PJ, play a 40 song set each night at Wrigley.

I'm sorry for your loss. I wish you peace and comfort, and hope that your good memories of her will outweigh the pain you're currently feeling. My mom was admitted into a hospice facility yesterday (BTW, fuck Alzheimers), and I'm sure we only have her for a few more days, so I will have a better understanding of the pain you're feeling soon. Good thoughts to you.

Thanks guys. If the band plays either request at the Wrigley shows, it’ll be tough to not shed a tear for my mom.

Sorry to hear about you mom and Alzheimer’s. The pain will be great, but not having her suffer anymore is the most important thing. Best to you.

I attended the second Seattle (Home) show and had a great time at the concert. It was a nice distraction after my mom passed at the end of July. Thank you PJ for the fun time and taking my mind off of my mom's passing. Never expected the band to play Daughter with the tag of It's OK, so I did shed a tear for my mother after the song.

Thanks to all the people I met during my stay in Seattle, including Big Bank Hank (great guy). I can't wait for the two Chicago and Boston 2 shows.

From the bottom of my heart; thank you to all on the board and everybody at the shows who were very nice to me in regards to the passing of my mother, it means a lot and greatly appreciated.

It will take a long time to get over her passing, but the shows in Seattle and Chicago have helped a lot and brought a necessary distraction at this current time. I can't wait for the second Boston show.

Thanks, I miss my mother all the time, but she was suffering in her last days and we did not want her to live in that manner anymore with cancer. Glad she is in a better place, without pain and suffering. The shows were a fun distraction, even for a short time.
