I had been a loyal customer and fan of Ames dating back to 1998. I have been to a few of their shows, and they always dissappoint. Never will go again. They promote like there is going to be rare, highly sought after posters there, but most of the stuff for sale is shit most people don't want, mainly shirts in size small or medium (their stuff runs small to begin with), or sticker packs. The stuff in demand is held for people they know. The first time I saw this I was naive and thought "wow, they looked in the back and found them a Transformers poster." Then I saw it 2 more times. Asking customers who "got lucky" and Ames employees themselves and all played dumb and never got straight answer why prints were given to certain people. Maybe that is the way this business works, but just thought it was pretty lame that they run stuff that way. Hopefully they change their ways, but I doubt it. Besides, their latest work has been really subpar, so no huge loss.

In 2013, the Ames pop up shop was pretty decent.  I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but grabbed a State College.

Had a wonderful time at their 2013 and 2016 pop up shop events. Sucks I won't be able to make it this year. :(

I’ve never been to one of their gallery shows and since we’ll be in town for the shows I wanted to check it out. I saw the artist reception 8/9. Does anyone know if that open to public or a private event?

Judging by Georgetown Brew being there, maybe Home Show beer makes an appearance.

Unfortunately realized the MoPop event is the same time as this show. Lots of great events the night between the PJ shows.

Nothing exciting.  No obvious PJ stuff.  5 posters: blink 182, the pixies, some others.  Mostly t shirts.  Most t shirts are ames bro themed or original stuff

Might be the upstairs gallery that's open tomorrow night (separate from popup shop).

Any ideas on cost or print count? Debating if it’s worth waiting in line if it’s going to be expensive or impossible to pick one up
