I'm not going this year but if I were, I'd be at my buddy's house in Roscoe Village.

    Kimpton Gray Hotel.

Did the Hotwire thing where they pick your hotel based on star rating and that's what they gave me. Not too shabby for $140/night

Anyone think there is a chance of them running back the impromptu show they held on the roof of Murphy's Bar in 2016?

I specifically picked my AirBNB a few blocks away just in case.

    DO IT!

City Suites, booked when shows were a rumour.  Quick walk to Wrigley, looks decent enough. Anyone stay there before?

Doubletree magnificent mile on east Ohio street, which apparently is under construction but didn’t say so on Expedia when i booked it. So if it’s that bad, I’ll try to get some money back after. But anyway, I’ve only been to wrigleyville for one afternoon, so I really wanted to explore the rest of the city when not at bars by Wrigley for preshow. Is there an official ten club preshow party/bar?

Air Bnb right across the street like we did in 2016. So great to be around the field during the shows, the atmosphere is incredible.

" I think the thing that has always driven me to play music is the feeling you get when you just close your eyes and play. When you shut off the logic in your brain, and play from your heart. I think that's what made me become a musician - that feeling you get. Especially, if you are with a group of people who are in the same zone, and heading towards that same place in the song. I think you share an intimacy in those situations that you can only compare to sharing intimacy with a lover. I think it's the same place. It's a feeling that I crave for sure. " Jeff Ament

Hello. Out of towner here. I did not jump on getting a hotel for CHI N1. Should I get a hotel outside of CHI and drive in and attempt to find parking? Pay boocou bucks to stay 2.6 miles away? Just get a hotel in CHI and hope I can figure out the train situation? Thank you!
Oh please let it rain today.

If you're just trying to park, check out the SpotHero app.  You'll find something within a mile.  Usually not too expensive either.  Also, you can park at the train in Indiana and take that all the way to the Addison stop.

Taking the train is really not tricky at all. I love staying in downtown and just jumping on the red line to Addison to get to Wrigley. Finding the red line in downtown is fairly easy.

Yeah take the red line. Very easy. And F*@& SpotHero! I just got wrongfully towed last week from a parking spot I paid for using SpotHero. $220 later to get my car from the tow yard and SpotHero has done absolutely nothing. They basically told me to pound sand. So anyway, avoid SpotHero and use the red line.

Watch.  Some areas/streets become tow way zones for Cubs games and for events such as this.  Had a local tell us it was okay to park where we did.  Purely on accident found one sign that told me otherwise.  Had I not seen that sign, we would have been towed.  My in-laws live in Wilmette, but were out of town that weekend.  We would have been rather screwed if we hadn't moved.  Trying to remember the name of that street.  We ended up moving the car to across the street from where my in-laws used to live-- School Street just above Damen.  FYI. It was a bit of a walk, but our car was still there.

ETA:  The street was Ravenswood.  Please don't park there.  You can park during the day, but on concert nights, you will be towed.

YES!  I did the same thing and booked on rumor.  It's a nice place.  It's older but was very clean when we were there.  And you can't beat all the restaurants around it that are open late.  Blaze Pizza is right next door, there's a 24/7 diner across the street, Ann Sather's a few doors down for breakfast, PLUS it's right on the red line.
