    Too much figure skating covrage

the networks have always loved their skating but I think the continual cancellations of the alpine skiing events factored into that.

That's what I was thinking.  Usually they just show the best of the figure skating competitors but we're getting to see practically everybody.  They've got to fill up the time.

  • Chloe Kim is boss.
If she didn't have that one little slip up on her last run the judges would have given her a 10.

Kelly Clark was robbed of a medal too.  Great run by her and to not get on the podium.  Even the commentators were miffed.

It's crazy that he is still competitive with the best in the world after all these years of domination.

For those who want to keep the snowboard fun alive, find First Descent.
It was a good watch, it's from 2005 and it gets some of the greatest snowboarders on the planet together to ride gnarly first descents in Alaska.
Its fun because the mountains are dangerous and it pairs a young Shaun White and Hannah Teeter, just pups, with backcountry legend Terje Hakonsen and snowboarding pioneer/party animal Shawn Farmer.

They run these crazy lines and the kids are scared shitless, then they build a giant ramp and the kids fly like birds and the old guys are cautious.

Not crazy at all.  Athletes are staying healthier longer now and competing longer.

Glen Plake, Dennis McCoy, Matt Hoffman, Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Kelly Slater, Vince Carter, Tom Brady have all defied father time far longer than their counterparts.

I will ck out that video though!  I love when they do fresh runs and helidrops!!!

    That was awesome
  • 97.75 final run!  Nice job Shaun!

The Japanese kid Hirano killed his second run though.  Too bad he didn't finish his third.

That was great now time for bed as figure skating doesn't move me like it used to...

I live the olympics but struggle with sports on display.
Won't watch hockey as I saw the outcome....but I think outside of Russia the games are up for grabs.  Would like to see USA and Canada is final but it could be any teams in there.

Damn shame that Gary Bettman killed Olympic men's hockey.  I could give zero fucks on who medals.

He he took the greatest stage the NHL had and pissed all over because he couldn't make a direct penny on it and ignoring all the dollars that could be gained from the world exposure.

Agreed. I mean, I still want to see Canada win... but will I even bother watching? I'm not even sure. And that sucks. I'm really going to miss the huge excitement that used to surround the Olympic hockey in Canada. :frowning: I know some people are still going to try and force the excitement, but everyone knows it's just not the same at all.

You are not going to see TJ Oshie hit the turbo button on the NES Advantage Gamepad and make Putin cry in this Olympics. Here is a reminder ....
