2018 Winter Olympics

anyone watching? anyone care?

I am and I do. the acrobatics of the slopestyle was amazing. ski jumpers have balls of steel. the downhill skiing will be good.

hate to see half (or more) empty venues, tho. in our 24/7 times, the olympics have lost some luster.

I’m watching and appreciate the athletic ability in any sport at the highest level. I used the same term, “balls of steel” when I was watching the snowboarders tonight doing the slope style runs,  or whatever they call it. Some amazing stuff right there.

Its a shame the Olympics aren’t appreciated as much these days.

Have had zero time to watch any but we have tomorrow off so with luck (we have an analogue TV with a converter so it's all luck!) we may get to watch some.  I've read some interesting stuff about the North?South Korea women's soccer team.  But 8/zip?  Ouch!

It’s a positive and fun happening I wish I had more time to follow it. I have a coworker who always takes vacation when it’s the olympics (and other bigger events), she is crazy about it. :)

I love the Winter Olympics.  I know next to nothing about the different sports so it amazes me to watch the competitions.
I've also noticed the empty seats though and wondered what was the reason.  I'd read that it's really expensive to travel there from North America but it's always going to be expensive for somebody in the world to travel to where the Olympics are held.

Can't believe the Norwegian cross country skier who got tripped up and fell right after the race started.  He got up and was in last place behind 63 other skiers, gradually made his way to the front, and won the gold medal!  Holy crap, I'd still be sitting on the ground complaining.

apparently, she doesn’t even get nervous. I think she’s just that good.

that said, I think a better scoring system would be to average the best 2 of 3......that way, you couldn’t fall twice and then pull a great run out of your ass.
