Why do poster sellers on eBay...

why do poster sellers on eBay brag that the poster they’re selling has been stored in a tube since it was purchased?

I see a lot of listings like that and I wonder if people really think that’s the proper way to store a poster.

      It may be ignorance, or that's what they think the buyer wants to hear.  In my opinon, it's not that bad if it has only been in a tube for a year or two, but that's just me.  A decade or so in a tube, then yes.

    I guess they feel it gives the impression it hasn't been handled or damaged.

    My unused posters are store in their shipping tubes. Mostly because i don’t have any other good way of storing them. A lot like a still sealed vinyl album, IMO. Sort of a «Schroedinger’s Record». ;) (or poster)

    I store my vinyl in tubed so they stay mint & fresh.

    When I have listed posters on eBay, I have noted in the description how they've been stored. 
    It's not any form of bragging, it is letting the buyer know that it has not been kept flat and therefore they might have to flatten if needed. 
    Simple honesty. 
    2009 - Manchester. 2010 - Dublin, Belfast, London, Berlin, Arras, Werchter. 2011 - PJ20 i & ii, Montreal, Toronto i & ii, Ottawa, Hamilton. 
    2012 - Manchester i & ii, Berlin i & ii, Stockholm. 2014 - Amsterdam i & ii, Trieste, Vienna, Berlin, Leeds, Milton Keynes.

    I credit you for being up front on condition in your listings. Not meant as a slight to you.  More that some sellers think keeping it rolled up in a tube is a good idea.
