next 3 -6 months we will have a new album
I wish I shared your optimism, Greek. 6...maybe. But I think 3 is pretty low. I'll go 9-12 months.
It's going to be at least another year or two before another one...  Releasing these Chicago shows, all the hype, etc with it. That will "satisfy" the masses for awhile. Do the Lollapalooza shows next year to pay the bills. Eddie will do a solo U.S. tour while they continue to work on a new album for a 2019 release.
Isn’t Dimi the gentleman that usually gets things right though :). Hope he’s right on this as well!

I like the “read into it” lyrics more than the Bushleaguer direct approach.  I think something like Infallible is way more powerful than a flat out anti-this person or anti-this.

Maybe im just exhausted.  I get the same message from pop artists, football players, etc. i want a different approach to the president

Yep....  What else is there to write about? Love? Life? Majority of PJ fan base are grown adults, we've been through all that shit already. To be honest, I'm looking forward to hopefully hearing more of Jeff, Mike, Stone and Matt just ripping a new album apart and bringing to the table what they do best.

I miss the "Riot Act" and "Binaural" album era.  Those albums felt like a place to disappear into.

This thread makes me feel like this board is being overrun by Radiohead fans with the wild "out of nowhere" belief. I love Pearl Jam, but they're not innovators in music business practices anymore. Maybe we will get a single out of nowhere and an announcement of an upcoming album, but that's all.

Could someone refresh my memory on how much notice we had with what was going on with Lightning Bolt. Not saying they are going to do the same just wondering how much the public knew about the studio work and writing of songs.

We knew over a year out that band was in the studio. As of now we know nothing, and it sounds like they have not been in the studio according to band members.

I'll guess it will come out around Christmas 2018. Figure the South America shows are just short of 6 months from now. So maybe they'll start working on the new stuff soon..put the finishing touches on it throughout next year as they tour Europe and hopefully the west coast....?

They already are working on new material

It's more a wish than a prediction...but I'd love them to do their version of the White Album. One of my favourite albums. Not everyone's cup of tea I'm sure, but it's an eclectic double album full of goodness!
That's what I'm talking about!! I think with the personal loss they experienced, the current political climate, and the high that they are on from a successful album/tour that they'll have a ton of inspiration to pull from.

Here's my prediction. The boys won't be releasing an album until 2019. It'll be their first double album and on the tour for it,  they will play the entire album and then do a quick set of hits.

NAILED the double album part. I still think they will play the entire album at each stop and a set of the rest.
