I know they have been out there, got started with the vocal only versions on youtube, stumbled onto this, master tracks of ten, guitars only.....unreal.  A totally new take on the album after 26 years.

there are other goodies you can dig up here, but the guitar only tracks are revealing in  many ways
I feel like Yellow Ledbetter is a direct descendant of Black now, totally changes my view on both songs

Do you mean there's a musical connection between Black and YL? Granted it's late at bight and my memory is not what it used to be. But both songs are in the key of E major I believe. Black's verse is E7 to A and YL is E, quick B, to A. So the styling could sound very similar. My theory is a little foggy anymore but I totally buy what you're selling.

Normally not a fan of stuff like this, but it's neat and I like it better than listening to isolated vocal tracks.

I love this stuff...hearing all the little nuances you can't necessarily hear in the full recording.

Ten was great. Almost like an orchestra, you can really focus on the guitar without bass, drums, and vocals.

Yellow Ledbetter always sounds to me like a tribute to the opening riff of Little Wing.

I know Ledbetter was a little wing and SRV ditty  but if you listen to black in here you hear the Ledbetter effect on the guitar and some of the same chords doodles, maybe black came out of Ledbetter as 1st week rehersals and mookie tapes are all same time frame.  But parts in black sound like they belong in yellow led. Or vise versa.

Love all the new guitar sounds you can actually hear without the drum tracks.  Never ever heard Ed could not in the beginning of release....

I definitely agree. I still remember the first time I heard it on the radio, I thought it was a cover of Little Wing, until Eddie started singing.

Pretty sure black was written by stone well before the band ever started rehearsing. Think it was called Balled in E.

yes was pre-ten, that was why I said Yellow Led is Blacks relative, but when did Mike lay down that accent guitar work over Stone's original riffs? That is the mystery to me......

I'll have to pull out the PJ20 book. I feel like it's addressed in there.
