North Korea

What are your thoughts about what our response should be, if any, to what is going on over there? I'm torn actually. On one hand I think we need to respond and stop them from continuing to threaten us, launch missles and oppress their people, but on the other hand if we do get involved it will be a massive distraction to all the corruption currently going on with Trump and might rally everyone behind him.

Stay out of it and say a prayer or think good thoughts for the poor (most of them are poor) in N.K. who are just trying to stay alive.

True, but how can we antagonize him and expect him to do anything else?

the more they test, the more successful each launch will become. if they eventually develop one that can reach the US mainland, then shit gets interesting. but that could be a long way off.

True!  But also, sometimes these things backfire.  Ouch!

So - I know Alaska isn't US mainland...but does that mean the US doesn't really care yet and Alaska is not worth caring about? ;)

You know, that may be the only way to unite the USA.  If a North Korean missile killed wild life, and polluted the forest/waters....we could get all the crazies from the left and right together!

Certainly jives with every Trump supporter I've ever met, I doubt a single one could find it on a map.

From what I saw it went up 1700 miles... beyond the space station... then reentered the atmosphere without issue... with a lower trajectory it could have made it to Alaska... the nearly up & down trajectory was done on purpose and doesn't represent the actual possible distance the missile could travel

From all reports this is a legitimate breakthrough and advance in their technological capabilities

Which country will end up with North Korea's abundance of mineral resources? and when?
my guess 50/50 China and US in about 5 years.

I'm a terrible guesser thou, I guessed Hillary hasn't given a wall street speech since blowing a billion dollars on the election.

To be fair.  The only blowing of things was not Hillary.  My guess it will be N. Korea since America has a strong Rodman ambassador.

If North Korea had an abundance of mineral resources that were cost effective to excavate and recover, it would be mining them.  Men do not sit on pots of gold.

Really interesting article I read today On how North Korean children are taught to hate America. During summer break school children visit an anti American museum.
