Some of these posts are still missing the point on all of these...no need for vaults of a soundboard that already exists and is available to us. We need NEW music to come to light!

Great performances and sets where there is NO current good quality listenable documentation! That's the deal!!!

    Amen, brother!

Asia/Oz 1995 immediately come to mind as well as Denver and St. Louis 1994.
Found: Soundgarden Hyde Park DVD (Thank you for the gift!)

C'mon you are guy who has obviously been to many shows, has thousands of posts and has listened to many live shows... It is confusing to me that you can't understand why this would be a waste of a vault release... I would understand maybe from a fan who may not be familiar with the live shows available or is new to the band.. I don't mean this as a personal attack, but both of those shows are mixed very well and are of very high quality soundboards. Out of all of the Pearl Jam shows ever played that have not been released why would you pick two that you can already listen to right this very moment?

    Just guessing...
But it kind of falls in line with the kinds of shows they've chosen to release in the past.

Either of these 2 get my vote. :)

    11/04/96 - Sporthalle: Hamburg, Germany [120m]
    support act: The Fastbacks
set: Wash, Hail Hail, Once, Last Exit, Animal, Dissident, Who You Are, Corduroy, Elderly Woman (short), Better Man/(Save it for Later), Whipping, Mankind, Even Flow, Black, Jeremy, Sometimes, Rearviewmirror, I Got Shit/(Cinnamon Girl), Alive
enc: Off He Goes, Not for You/improv, Glorified G, Daughter/(ABitW)/(Noise of Carpet), State of Love and Trust, Smile, Rockin' in the Free World
notes: Those who attended both German shows report Hamburg is a better show with a better crowd. A great version of 'Hail Hail' is sung with the lyrics, "... the lucky ones; I refer to those in front." 'Elderly Woman' is abandoned after the first few lines (saying they have a "better song"), switching to 'Better Man,' which includes the 'Save it for Later' bit toward the end. A whipping version of 'Whipping' leads to a spirited 'Mankind.' Ed introduces 'Even Flow' saying, "This next song's called, 'I'm beginning to see the light.'" PJ is sounding relaxed and comfortable with 'Sometimes' now. Ed comments, "We played a little show on the radio last night ... I was just thinking that tonight's been so much more real. I wish we would have recorded tonight," leading to a super version of 'Rearviewmirror.' Ed intros 'Off He Goes' saying it is a "... little story ... and then we're gonna take requests." 'Not for You' has a funky sound featuring an extended ending/improv. 'Glorified G' makes an unusual appearance on this setlist. After 'Daughter,' Ed asks, "Up for more?" and PJ moves into 'State of Love and Trust' with Mike very ON. Super show!

06/20/95 - Red Rocks Amphitheater: Morrison, CO [132m]
    attendance: 9,000
    support act: Bad Religion
set: Long Road, Jeremy (new), Ship Song, Footsteps, Falling Down, Better Man, Last Exit, Spin the Black Circle, Animal, Tremor Christ, Corduroy, Not for You, Go, State of Love and Trust, Daughter/(This Boy), Garden, I've Just Seen a Face (Ed solo), Alive, Whipping, Lukin, Rearviewmirror/Improv (Words Seem Out of Place), Elderly Woman, Blood
    enc 1: Black, Porch, Immortality
    enc 2: Indifference
notes: PJ performs their first six songs seated, experiencing some of the effects of the altitude and taking a different approach from the previous night. 'Ship Song' is by Nick Cave. They get frustrated being seated (Stone declares, "All right, "fuck the seats") and they dump the chairs as they launch into 'Last Exit.'
The 'Falling Down' tune surfaces five years later, forming the melody for the song 'Distress' on The Rockfords album. 'RVM' is interrupted to break up a fight. ("What are you guys fighting for? This is a rock and roll concert.") PJ picks up the song right where they left off. A new, slower version of 'Jeremy' is premiered here. The impromptu 'I've Just Seen a Face,' a Beatles' tune, is sung by Ed a capella. 'This Boy' is a song by an LA band, That Dog. Ed's parting comment: "Thanks for coming up to the mountain with us."

Me too. It was always fun to read nothing but positive fanviews of shows. The .wav files, setlists and poster scans were cutting edge circa 1998-2000. Every once in a while I pop over there and read old magazine articles. I'll probably print a lot of stuff from there and create a scrapbook. I've been getting into doing stuff like that and making my own bootleg covers/slipcases. They look like mini lp's featuring show covers. It's a fun hobby!

Yep. They inherited Five Horizons. Yeah, it's confusing with what's going on with that site now. Jesssica is still active on Twitter and done the Vitalogy-Ology podcast for part 6 last week, so it is curious as to why there's been no new updates there. Maybe she's been super busy in real life or something?

I dont see the big deal with someone wanting Soldier Field as the next vault.
One, there are already so many official boots out there I will never have enough time to really listen to then all. I bought about 15 or so copies the day the 2000 boots were released. Then I slowly picjed up about another 15-20 hoping to complete the set. Then a few years later they did it again, and again, and again. With several hundred official boots available, I envy anyone with time to actually listen to them all.
Second, I remember an announcement made several years ago that all bootlegs not sold through PJ (or Nugs now) are not soundboard recordings, regardless of how well they sound. The Soldier Field boot definitely doesnt sound as good as the official boots. Atleast the 3 or 4 versions I've heard. It sounds like it could have been a soundboard source, fed to a radio station and recorded from there, which diminished the quality some. And probably never mixed as well either. For anyone who remembers the days of trading taoes (I'll trade two of my third generation tapes for one of your second generation? If that doesnt sounds familiar, then you have no idea what is was like getting live sound before the official boots and the crappy quality we had to suffer through).
So with the hundreds available I don't consider myself someone who needs new live boots. And would be happy if they made a vault release of something from the 2000 tour because at least that we give me another record to spin.

Soldier Field might be the one existing soundboard bootleg I'd like a vault of. Only because it's such a legendary show, and the audio quality of the bootlegs is pretty subpar (even though someone's tried to make a kickass FM/Audience hybdrid, it's still not great :( ).

Other than that, I'd love to see Missoula '98 get an official release one day :)

I was reading back a couple of my earlier comments above from a long while back, and though I still would be partial to new music being released I would be of course excited for upgrades to a legendary show. What is seemingly more clear to me as time passes is that there is a pattern for shorter concerts to be released. While I understand their desire to contain the size of the vaults, it seems the more legendary shows seem to be longer ones. There are great shorter shows as well like Missoula 98', but shows like the Randalls Island, Soldier Field, etc... I doubt will ever see the light of day for this reason. I wish they would just release more SBD's. They don't have to be full Vault record sets...
