Secret Show... how awesome would that be

PJ5a1PJ5a1 Oceanside, NY Posts: 412
I can't help but think how cool it would be for a pop up show in the city this weekend or post Friday night... Night two of Fenway, Eddie made a comment; we feel like a bar band... it would be sweet to witness them playing a dive bar in BK/NYC

One can dream...

Nirvana played an after show at St Vitus in Brooklyn a couple years back

For such a fan friendly band, I'm shocked they don't do more stuff like this

I heard they played a little, but there weren't fans there, so not really a secret show

    Aerospace '98 :)

I got to see them in a bar once, but it wasn't a secret show. Radio winners only thing for the Vancouver 2000 show at the commodore. It was pretty sweet. I can't begrudge other pj fans for wanting the same experience. I agree lots of people get left disapointed due to the sheer mass of fans that would want to go.

I agree with most of the other comments. PJ seems to plan things out now. So while it might not be last second secret, if there is one, I could see it it leaking a day or two in advance?

Somone told me that they were trying put together something at BAM-which is where Unplugged used to be filmed-but that they wouldn't permit use of the space between those hours (1-4am).

Other than that, St. Vitus or the dive where they first played NYC were my initial guesses; EV has mentioned it more than once before-who knows...

What does everyone else think-is anyone else sleuthing out there trying to figure out where this will happen?

i really wish there was a way to know when and where something awesome will happen. i'm 3 hours away and not going to the rnr hall of fame show. st. vitus would be insane. ive been there before...200 people is PACKING that room in. a dream come true. but shows like this there are always just friends of the owners/band. general public can almost never get in even though they 'sell tickets' or whatever

Marquee not around anymore so won't be there. a sneaky place they COULD do it if it were to happen is the John Varvatos store aka CBGBs. They have 'special events' there a lot. Saw Gaslight there

not as many as you think. around 30-40. I don't travel to see them except this past year when i went to Boston and Chicago.

If ya seen some of my other posts , i was an intern at Epic Records in 91 and my first job in the music biz was to send the 3 song cassette to the MLB fan club so being around the label during that time i got to see a lot of the early NYC shows.
