I think, if he does show up, it will be Seattle.

Why would Ed show up to sing one song? I don't care about back-up singing. It is Temple of the Dog that I bought tickets to. Hearing Ed sing Hunger Strike would be cool but past that I have seen and heard PJ enough over 25 years to want to see something different! Why would anyone want to hear Better Man at a TOTD show????

Not quite sure how that constitutes as a Major Update.... It's still speculation. And not even good speculation at that.

Someone has cruelly arranged for me to be on "stand-by" for the Seattle show. He won tix to the show, asked one of his friends to go down with him, but the friend is notoriously flakey so he asked me if I wanted to be on stand-by in case this friend of his flakes out last minute, lol (this is a guy I used to know, but haven't hung out with for years and years - ran into him in the pit at the 2013 PJ show, but that's the only contact we've had for probably a decade... so I can't be offended by this tactic, hahaha - I'm just surprised that he thought of me at all, and hope his friend is as flakey as he says. :P ). So anyway, I hope Eddie shows at the Seattle show - I'd be shocked if he didn't!

Haven't seen Ed at the Cubs victory celebration. I'll bet he is in Philly

For what it's worth, one of the radio stations in Chicago (not sure if it was XRT or WLUP), said yesterday he'd be joining them for a "couple" of shows. They even mentioned he had already left Chicago (missing the Cubs parade today) for last minute rehearsals. I think TOTD has handled this pretty well, not attaching him to the entire tour, and leaving it open for him to hop on stage when he can.

But Betterman isn't a TOTD song lol, EV was actually on Hunger Strike. He could also do backing for Reach Down.

Was at the show last night. Have to admit I was a touch disappointed when they did Hunger Strike halfway through first set without him. But the more I thought about it they really didn't need him and this band/show was more than good enough on their own and deserved the night to themselves without any special guests jumping in.
They were really good and you'd never believe that they haven't been a band together in 25 years.

Exactly. They do not need Ed. Ed was part of one big song but that is all. I understand this is a PJ message board but don't understand the obsession with Ed showing up at these shows.

I love that people don't want ed performing with his band and a band he was a part of but fucking drool/obsess over every interview, camera shot and 7th inning stretch as a new found Cubs fan during the playoffs. (Not meaning you specifically bud)

I don't listen to PJ all that much anymore. I have heard it enough over the years. TOTD is something different and that interests me. After the band's tour this year the last thing I want would be to go to a TOTD and have a Pearl Jam show break out. I just think it is silly to expect Ed to show up when he sang on one song for a tribute album for a guy he never knew. Some people couldn't comprehend that Ed would not be a part of the whole tour which is just sad. It is like they are stuck in a bubble. A slap in the face to the rest of the band.

    This is just silly.

His band and friends are playing, why would it be silly to expect him to come out and sing on songs he sang on like Hunger strike, Wooden Jesus and whatever... sing Crown of Thorns for one or some of the shows? It's not like its unlikely of Ed to pop up at other bands shows.

And Eddie almost talks more about that guy he never knew than the rest of the band. On PJ20, and him wanting to cover CoT in Las Vegas and him talking about Andy on the tag for I Got Shit in 92. Etc. For whatever reason.

I'm not saying they need Ed. But I don't see where this "there is no logic in you wanting Eddie to show up or the belief that he will" bullshit comes from.

The odds are he will show up in NYC or Seattle or whatever. And its not out of place.

i never thought he be there on the whole tour but agree with those saying he'l show up at one or two shows.
I see this kind of the like mirrorball tour and what the guys said in PJ20, something like wanting to do this without Eddie. The impression I get is that Eddie turning up would 'steal the show' and they want to just go out and play themselves.
