What is the 1 Venue has Pearl Jam played the MOST?

djklambakedjklambake PHX, AZ Posts: 2,510
I just purchased one of the Dave Matthews Band's live Trax (don't make fun) - it was from their show at Alpine Valley in East Troy, WI 2015, and the description said it was the 29th time DMB has played Alpine. I knew they liked playing there but I had NO IDEA they've played it 29 times! That's incredible!

Got me thinking, what's the one venue Pearl Jam has played the most - and how many times? Not talking city, I'm talking actual venue. I'm sure someone's got a stat for this that I haven't yet seen.

Just curious. :-)
6/27/98 - East Troy, WI
6/29/06 - Milwaukee, WI
9/25/11 - Vancouver, BC
11/4/12 - (Eddie Vedder) Phoenix, AZ
11/1/13 - New Orleans, LA
11/19/13 - Phoenix, AZ
11/21/13 - San Diego, CA
10/12/14 - Austin, TX
10/22/14 - Denver, CO
8/22/16 - Chicago, IL (Wrigley 2)

Gotta be Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountainview, Ca because of the Bridge School Benefit. They've played there several times on their own as well.
  • i think KC is right. Since 1992, PJ have played Shoreline a total of 22 times.

2 of those shows where on the Lollapalooza tour.

2 of these shows were headliner shows. (end of Binaural tour and beginning of Riot Act Tour)

and 17 have been because of Bridge School shows. (+1 because they did a rehearsal show for BS in 2001)

What about the most headlining shows in one venue tho? MSG?
  • What about the most headlining shows in one venue tho? MSG?

I think thats right. They have played about 10 headlining shows in the Garden since 1998

They have played 11 shows at Rod Laver Arena (AKA Flinders Park/Melbourne Park) in Melbourne. Not sure any venue will beat that for headline shows

As others said, Shoreline is the big winner. But 19 of those 23 shows were Bridge Benefit

Here's what appears to be the other big ones (sure I'm missing some)

    10 shows at MSG
10 shows at the Susquehanna Bank Center in NJ
11 shows at Great Woods in Mansfield, MA (2 of which were Lolla)
11 shows at Rod Laver in Melbourne.

It's like that now, but back in the day it felt like every couple of years, quite often with a few shows in a row. I'm still not sure why the shows in Seattle have slowed down. Was pretty shocked they didn't do two in 2013, I think it was the first time since '96 they hadn't done back to back headlining shows there. A forum poster had leaked the dates before the official announcement and the venue was booked for two days. The show sold out in -5 seconds so demand wasn't an issue. Even at the show Eddie was mocking Macklemore because he was playing 5 shows or something.. weird :)

    The place between my ears
I know I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine.
  • I've been at probably close to half of those DMB shows at Alpine. That's my "home court" venue. No chance I miss PJ there again. And we've got some serious catching up to do! WI misses you, boys! Come back anytime.

    even once a year.

I think they most recently played a rugby stadium there but most everything else was at the arena.

In terms of size, after Rod Laver the next best option is the retractable roof Etihad Stadium which seats 55,000. They played there in 2009.
