Ebay merch. When do the prices typically go down?

theebradnesstheebradness Quincy, IL originally from Weymouth, MA Posts: 278
At Wrigley 1, I had enough cash for 2 shirts, but really wanted a poster. I'm watching some on eBay and don't want to pay double. Do they ever get back to reality or do they stay stupid expensive?

It is difficult to say, some prices come down (just look at the Fenway posters except the Thomas) but others don't (Lexington, Fenway Thomas, etc.)

Gotta be careful, especially if you're looking at the Faile poster. I wouldn't be surprised if that is a $200+ poster before long. The demand just keeps growing it seems. I'm kicking myself for not buying it :(

In the same tone, a lot of posters drop down to reasonable prices after a rush in the months after a show. Most of the 2016 gems can be had for under $100 now. Just keep watching and you will probably find a deal sooner or later. and check lost dogs, usually better deals there than ebay.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

I also feel like there were a ton of posters printed (there were huge stacks of everything except faile at the show on Monday) so prices shouldnt be too high and I wouldn't be surprised to see some poster drops on here.

There are A LOT of posters up on the Bay. I expect the supply nearly exceeded the demand for most of the posters this go around. I don't think it's a stretch to think that some posters will hover around face value for quite a while......

And I agree with a prior member's remark. I also believe the 10C will have a poster drop down the road. Patience could save you some cash....

I checked ebay out of curiousity and the poster prices don't even seem that bad (I hate to say it but it's true). Klausens were selling for $60-70, Failes for under $100. I mean the days after a show they're usually crazy fucking prices. To not wait in line for 3-6 hours, I'd pay an extra $30 for that. Wait till Ten Club sells them, they'll come down even more. I really only liked two of the designs and those were the two I got (thanks to a friend) so no ebay for me... but if I got shut out I don't think that's bad at all for the Klausen which is a great design by a great artist, no wait in line for an extra $30. Personally I think it's a steal. Definitely a flood of posters, who knows what the quantity of each print sold was, but probably 5 times that of an arena show, times 5 posters... there are a lot out there.

If you wait a few more weeks you'll start seeing shit offered for not much more than face. At least that's what happened with the Fenway stuff. Just like buck said, there's tons of that stuff out there.

The 10C poster drops are hit and miss because you have to be constantly monitoring this board and when they happen the frenzy is such that for the really hot ones they're gone in minutes.

Yeah, that's the one I just don't get either. The Taylor is my favorite from Wrigley by a mile.

I think all the Wrigley posters will end up as fairly commonly-priced.

Out of these Stadium shows, the Thomas is the only one that promises to hold a lot of value.

The Faile poster may be a little more sought after because it sold out in Chicago

I don't like the Faile either. I do rather like the Feldman, not only because of the human rights theme, but also because i feel that it serves as an homage to the Art Institute of Chicago. I went there for a full day in 2013 and I hated that I had to leave at closing time. I really really REALLY loved it in there, especially the contemporary and modern art collections.

I bit and bought a Faile for $100 on ebay this morning. I was torn, knowing the 10club ones I'd have an off chance of getting one...or that the price might go down. But I thought the same 3 years ago about Cracker Jack, and now I'm pretty much never going to have that one because I waited there.

It is strange to me that people didn't get the posters they wanted at the venue. All you had to do was show up at 4:45pm on Saturday and walk in the doors at 5:45 and buy one. Then, if you got tired of hearing Better Man you could have walked out and bought one from a stand.

I went to a pop up the day before my show, bought 2 posters. Then ridiculously left them on the train from the airport when I was returning home. So now, no posters. Sure, that was my stupidity, but now I have to buy again and I also would love to know when/if prices will go down.

And no, I didn't lose a Thomas, in case you were wondering... :)

A valid strategy but the last thing I want to do during a concert is carry around a poster tube. Well, maybe not the last thing but definitely up there.
