Is GA pit size consistent ?

If you look at the seating chart for toronto it looks like theres barely any room in the GA pit. I imagine this is just an inaccurate seating chart, but it did make me wonder about the pit size in general. Does it vary from venue to venue or is it basically the same every night?

it varies by venue as well as it varies in how full it is

miami had more room than hampton which had more room than greenville

I think it varies. Probably on numerous factors. Some of the west coast shows in 2013 didn't have heavy demand (Vancouver, Spokane, Calgary...). The pits for those were a little smaller because they only sold so many tickets (I think they tried to do 2nd drawings for those shows.

I guess for shows that have huge demand the pit size must be based on the venue layout, how many tickets they wrangled from TM etc...

I'm a little nervous about the pit size for Wrigley. It's a really wide pit. Someone pointed out that in 2013 there were seated sections on the left/right sides but the views were horrible because of the angles. Those sections are merged in with the pit this time so the pit is really wide. Hopefully they didn't oversell the pit so fans don't' get stuck over on the extreme sides.

Usually there's plenty of wiggle room, you can chill in the back and feel very comfortable. Random shows will be cramped though. Greenville was packed tight.

I believe that is the correct seating chart for Toronto night 1. I think they changed it to a smaller GA pit for night 2 because there is no Fan Club. That is why the much smaller map is shown on the ticketmaster map.

Greenville seemed much smaller than some of the 2013/2014 venues I made it to. You could sit in the back of the pit and still be pretty close.

I'd be surprised if they changed the layout for Night 2. Will they add extra seats to make up for the space? I have GA for both nights, so I will report back

Good point... Gotta be a soundboard in the same place.. Center back floor... I can only go by the TM chart for PJ.. It shrunk for night two. The explanation given was that because there was no TC less GA seats.. But I don't recall where that info came from..

Both nights are shown incorrect (with small GA) I believe. The one Chris519 posted is most likely correct. It is a new one as far as I recall as well but they haven't set it to the default one shown.

In terms of dimension, the Toronto GA pit will remain consistent for both shows. No clue if the same amount of people will occupy the GA over both nights.

Agreed. I can't imagine the venue didn't sell the GA Pit to capacity. My guess is for each show the same number of tickets were sold in the Pit. Just my 10 Cents.

OK, lets clear this up for everyone concerned. The map with the tiny GA section that you guys are wondering about is just a mistake on the ticketmaster website. Its that same map used for both nights. The fact is, that thing that looks like a tiny GA section is actually seating... the map is called "west end stage" and has a fully seated floor, with that tiny strip at the front being the 1st 5 rows (aprox). The "west end stage" setup is not being used for PJ. It's an error.
If you go to the ticketmaster site and look at the map on the PJ tickets page, there is a box below with a pull down menu for all of the different arena set ups. Scroll up 3 and you have "General Admission & Reserved Floor". Pearl Jam night 1 & 2 is using the "General Admission & Reserved Floor" map. (posted earlier in this thread)
Hope everyone has a great couple of shows!
    cheers
