Secondary Market

When is it time to bite the bullet and go secondary for MSG1. We're driving from Cleveland for night 2 and might as well go both nights. Should I wait to see if I can score some bleeders from a ticket drop.

I wait until there is less than a 1000 tickets left on secondary sights for what I need , 20 days before the event . I've jumped to soon before and watched tickets flow back in around the 30 day mark at a lower cost for better seats. That's when time off request are denied (summer hours) or people have lives and can't make it or meet up. But if you have to fly that's always a gamble . I missed out on Grizzly Stadium a few years ago due to arrogance that I was the only person flying to Spokane that day . I'm juggling the Psyhco festival in Vegas week and waiting to get tickets all at once in late June .

Track it. There are 2,183 tickets on SH for MSG1...that's a whole lot, with a low price of $144 for uppers and $229 for lowers...those prices will come down, and they aren't running out of tickets anytime soon.

3 days later, still 2,143 tickets, lowers are down more than 15% to a low of $197

  • Yeah I'm holding on......I have 10c for Monday. I had behind the stage and sold them to someone who didn't have any. I didn't think I was gonna go both nights. Oh well.

Good luck. I think you'll find a decent ticket closer to the show.

My fear is what happened with Wrigley will happen with Fenway. I waited until about 2 weeks out when tickets were outrageous. I didn't think that would happen.

Its like the stock market, sometimes its a crap shoot. I bit the bullet early on MSG 1 and paid 274 after fees...a week later got a single on the TM drop, now im kicking myself. Like someone said in another thread, if you want the security of knowing you will be in the building and find a price that you are willing to pay to see the show, do it.

This is the only show I have ever seen this happen in all my years of doing this. I have flown to foreign countries before with no ticket and never had a worry about getting one last minute at a good price. I went to Wrigley with a buddy and figured I'd just overpay for a scalped pair the day of…man did we get f*cked. We went into full on panic mode about 2-3 p.m. the day of the show and paid way way way too much for them. Given Fenway has two shows and there are the shows at Wrigley, not to mention the other regular tour stops I can't imagine it turns into that again.

It might for Wrigley 1. If you look at all the trading threads and people looking for tickets. Loads of people have spares for Wrigley 2, but they're all looking for Wrigley 1. I think Wrigley 1 might end up being tougher to get tickets for. There's so many spares out there for Wrigley 2 I imagine that one will be easier. It might be a big venue, but it's in a region with over 10 million people.
