I came across this article today about Polaris/Germain amphitheater. Brought back a lot great memories especially the 2 PJ shows that were there. A picture of Eddie is included in the article. I drive by the site often and its kinda depressing seeing it all torn down.

I was at the show in 2000. It was a beautiful day. Had a great time tailgating and met some super nice people.

I was at both shows too...was just listening to the 2000 bootleg yesterday!!
I live in the Polaris area and could have walked to the venue,
There was hardly anything in the area back then, but it's all over-developed now!!
Thought I heard they were building an IKEA on the property,
just what we need in northern Franklin county...
    More congestion!!

I'm hearing the same about the IKEA. It's going to be a nightmare. I grew up a little south of the area off Schrock and we could hear some of the louder shows from our backyard.

I played the 2000 boot over the weekend. Great concert!!!!!

Was at both shows as well as HORDE '95, Lolla '94 '03, Phish '99. Loved that place which is why I can't stand the tiny LC. At least the Newport has air conditioning now, and you don't miss half the show going to the bathroom or buying a beer anymore.

I only know this from the bootleg (i.e., wasn't there) but that show has one of the best ever performances of "In My Tree."

That "In My Tree" was great. From what I heard, they came out late and had to do the first few songs super-fast. In My Tree almost sounds like some sort of African tribal drumming.

That Leatherman is great. Ed forgets the lyrics and just goes "la la la."
    An unforgettable Y Led too.
"Here's another singalong." -- At three shows, I don't do "white whales" because I have too many and I'm happy to hear stuff I haven't heard yet, but Lukin is on the list that I need to hear.
As much grief as Last Kiss gets, I like how they go straight from that into YL almost seamlessly.

Wanna see something funny? For a band where each show is different...check this setlist out:

The 2000 show at Polaris is still at the top of my list of live shows...
Even the band thought this show was one of the GREAT ones,
They chose it as one of their "ape / man" shows when the boots were released!!

One of my vivid memories is going to the Ohio State Fair the following evening in Columbus. Had a blast there too. Deep fried Buckeyes

One of memories from this show is seeing Ed and Matt excitedly running out side stage as Sonic Youth took the stage. They were snapping pics and seemed to be really enjoying themselves.

Like I said, it was a beautiful day. My buddy and I had met 2 guys from Detroit the day before (at the Cincy show). Turns out, they had a place to stay that night in Cincy (we were just going to sleep in our vehicle) and we had a place to stay in Columbus. They said, "you can stay with us tonight if we can stay with you guys tomorrow." Deal! Never saw them again after the Columbus tailgate. But 2 nice guys nonetheless.
  • Been to a lot of shows the 00 cbus show was fantastic and always near my top. Still think this was one of the best tours! In my tree was fucking amazing that night?
