The "Wrigley is much better than Fenway and should be both your 1st and 2nd priority" thread

JimmyVJimmyV Boston's MetroWest Posts: 18,810
Thread title says it all. Wrigley for days. Wrigley FTW. Nothing beats Wrigley, those are the shows you want to go to. Fenway cannot and will not compare. Not even a contest. Don't waste you 1st and 2nd priority on Fenway. You've been warned.

Sincerely,

A Bostonian

What are you talking about?! Wrigley is the Worst place on earth. I don't know why anyone would even TRY to get tickets. I hear Fenway has been dolled up recently and everyone should just forget about stupid Wrigley field and our Cubs. Choose Fenway everyone! I'm sure the Bostonians will welcome you with open arms!

Bostonians don't even like Bostonians, never mind out of towners.

Seriously though, Eddie in his hometown? He'll be 10x more into the Wrigley shows than any other show on the tour.

Even moreso after what happened LAST time at Wrigley. The band is really going to want to make it up to the Wrigley crowd.

I wonder what special things they have planned?

I concur.....Don't even waste your picks on Wrigley........Picks 1 and 2 should be Fenway GA followed by picks 3 and 4 Reserved for Fenway.......Wrigley is going to suck......

No reason to enter the lottery for Wrigley/Fenway. I mean... uh.. it's like a baseball stadium and stuff... so the sound will be... bad... or something... yeah, that's it.

Reasons to pick Wrigley over Fenway:

#1. Wrigley has less of a chance to be rain delayed because the previous show was rain delayed and its very unlikely to happen twice at the same venue.
#2. Eddie is a Cubs fan, that show will be more special.
#3. You don't have to try to understand the accent spoken in Boston.

Did I mention that Wrigley is cursed? Yup, true story. For decades now. Why do you think a storm postponed the last show for hours? I mean once again the Cubs did NOT make it to the WS. Now having been to Wrigley many times myself, it's ok for me and my fellow long-suffering Cubs fans to attend. We are already cursed. I'm just looking out for you guys and your safety. Do not risk catching the Wrigley CURSE!

Haha, as a San Diegan, this is quite honestly the funniest thread in months. I guess I'm ignorant because I always heard both places are very nice ;) guess I'll wait for west cost swing :)
  • Fenway is offering a PSL for the concerts this summer, but its really expensive.

Boston just reenacted its puritanical blue laws. Alcohol has been banned. No bars anywhere near Fenway. They're all gone. Preparty? Better head to Wrigleyville.

So you guys will be sober and clear-headed before the show?! That's awesome! Seems like a great idea. Between the construction and the drunk people, I really wish I could go to Fenway instead. Have fun in Boston everyone! Nothing to see here...

They have their sights set on dancing next. Rock n' roll can't be too far behind. Shit, by August if you smile at Fenway you might be arrested.

No smiling huh, JimmyV? Here in Wrigleyville we haven't smiled in 100 years because our team never wins. Man, we are a sad bunch. In fact, I think the shows will just be Ed crying on stage the whole night. Better skip these shows. Wouldn't want people to waste their money that they worked so hard for.

Agreed. Give me a modern ballpark any day of the week over those two shitholes, HOWEVER, Wrigley is far less of a shit hole than Fenway.

Plus, you know...... Belichick is in Boston...... Just saying.

Plus you get a free meet and greet with Speedy at a Chicago bowling alley before each Wrigley show, its a no brainer.

Stay away from Boston folks, you won't be able to take our accents for 3 full days.
    This weekend we rock Portland

And honestly, I remember walking into the wrigley show without a single security frisk or pat-down

There's just something so relaxing and reassuring about the Fenway anal probes

Chicago has Deep dish pizza & Cheap Trick.

Boston has baked beans & New Kids on the Block.

Is this even a debate anymore?

Chicago wins, we all need to go to Wrigley.

You guys in Boston have the best accents in the country! We don't even have accents we have speech impediments. A study found that listening to us makes your IQ drop. Also, that's so nice they care about your safety there! We have all stopped caring about everything. Our deep dish has been called "tomato soup in a bread bowl". It's not even real pizza! You have to eat it with a fork! Not to mention, your health insurance rate will go up just from eating it. Next!

Cheap Trick is from Rockford, Might as well be IOWA........

Deep Dish......To sloppy doesn't travel well.....And you will miss the whole first set waiting for the cooks to bake it, it takes forever.......

......Don't forget Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch are from Boston!!!!!!

.....Hands Down Fenway is the way to go!

Same water outside Fenway costs $6. Actually, its not even the same water because the water outside Fenway is bottled Boston Harbor water. Sometimes it's green, sometimes it's brown...
