    definitely some awesome bands here in philly and radio stations that play them like wxpn and y-not radio (internet station that used to be y100 then, y100rocks.com, then part of spn as yrocksonxpn and now y-not radio :smile: )

    And I can't say that original article is that great. It doesnt even mention the biggest Philly area bands. But yes.... The scene is fantastic right now. Tons of attention and love from all corners of the country.

    Heard these girls on y-not radio (philly internet station). One song sounded decent. They are called Amanda X, from philly. Two of the girls names are "Cat" so how can you not like them?

    maybe? probably not though. i know one of the shows is sold out. How much were tix? I'll probably be going to the Kurt Vile/Waxatchee show next month though. You are right though Union Transfer is awesome! Probably my favorite venue in philly now.

    I went Friday and Saturday. Shows were awesome! Dr Dog is in my top 5 current live bands. Great time.

    They are playing in baltimore at an orchestra hall in March. I will be at the venue next week to see Dawes. Will have a full report on the venue next week.

    It's been a record year for concerts...I will see 30+ shows this year. I guess this is the benefit of the philly sports teams being horrible.

    If you get a chance, go see Dawes. Duane Betts, Dickie Betts' son, was a great addition to their band. Show on Thursday night was short, but really really good. I have seen them a handful of times now, including their set at OBH, and they are super talented. If they keep their band intact, I really think their popularity will skyrocket. They're awesome...their last album is great and that was before Duane Betts joined them.

    Just bought tix to see St Paul and the Broken Bones at Carnegie Hall in nyc. Their album is amazing...looking forward to seeing them live.

    I have a nice concert break for a while. Considering going to see Dr Dog at the Warner Theater in DC in a few weeks. Will be a nice appetizer before a crazy November concert run hits.

    Then four PJ shows in 5 nights - Philly/NYC
    MMJ - Red Rocks over Memorial Day Weekend

    Dr Dog show was good as always. I think their shows in october were better. I like the new album but the songs are pretty mellow live. The Fillmore is a gorgeous building, but the layout for concerts isn't the best. The room where the stage is located is pretty long and narrow. I prefer the UC layout better for concerts. The drinking scene at the Fillmore is better -- TONS of bar space.
