What Pubs/Neighbourhoods/Spots should I be hitting on saturday and sunday night?
Have been googling - but still not sure.

Best best. A ton of cool bars with in walking distance and it's safe. Plenty of cabs to take you back to your hotel

I'm a big fan of greektown. Lots of good food there. There is a blackhawks game on Saturday night, so the bars on Madison near the United Center should be busy, but I agree with the above comments. If you are coming from the NW game, then Wrigley area would be a good bet.
    Near to death.

Wow...quite a weekend you have planned there!

Wrigley bars are fun. Some of the touristy spots in the Rush/Division area like Mother's and Hangge Uppe are always a good time on a Saturday night. Enjoy!

The Goose Island bar in Wrigleyville is awesome....Green Line Ale on tap and great food.

Take the subway to State/Lake. All kinds of stuff in that area and easy to get to/from wherever you are in Chicago

Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

    Anywhere but Wrigleyville. ;)
Really depends on what you're looking for, what kind of crowd, etc.
  • Fantastic! Very kind, folks.
Am also gonna hit Buddy Guy's and the like, any other suggestions as far as the must-visit Blues-bars/rock bar type places?

Kinzie street has a lot of laid back bars. Some of them are open till 4am. Rush & Division street has a ton of bars if your feeling a little rowdy.

i live in Logan Square, which i guess is the new hip/up-and-coming part of the city, so one of the best places to get dinner and a drink is Longman & Eagle, which has received a famed Michelin star rating. wonderful food and a vast selection of whiskeys. it's right off the Logan Square blue line stop, making it very convenient. Revolution Brewpub on Milwaukee Ave has some great food and beers as well.

not too far is Wicker Park (Damen blue line stop), where a lot of cool kids and people who want to be seen hang out. Emporium is a barcade, with lots of video and pinball games and a solid selection of craft beers. as far as food goes, Big Star tacos is popular, as well as Piece pizzeria and brewery (co-owned by Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick). saturday night is fun there because it's karaoke night and it can get ludicrous real fast.

Other great places to eat around the city are Kuma's Corner, with massive burgers and loud Metal being blasted from the speakers, the Little Goat has some really fucking tasty breakfast dishes, and Pequod's deep dish pizza gives Lou Malnati's a run for their money as best traditional Chicago-style pizza. You also can't beat the Billy Goat Tavern for its history and location. For great beer/whiskey my favorites are the Map Room (laid-back, National Geographic mags on the walls), Delilah's (old punk rock whiskey bar), and the new-ish Temperance Brewing tap room in Evanston.

There is way too much to do in this town.
