"Odds Feature"

Father HubbardFather Hubbard Chicago Posts: 1,551
At least they added this. So, Chicagoans, Moline on a Friday or Milwaukee on a Monday?:

New Odds Feature on the drawing page:
- This tool has been created to help members know which shows are in highest demand. Drawing odds do not guarantee tickets will be won or lost if entered for.

- Odds will change throughout the drawing entry period as members continue to enter the drawing. The odds will update every 5 minutes and will continue to update until the drawing entry period ends at 10am Pacific on Wednesday, May 28th.

- Each ticket option odds are calculated based on the number of entrants versus the number of tickets available.

- This is a random drawing. Since there is no preferential treatment given to anyone, all members will see the same odds visible, and every eligible Member has the same chance to be drawn.

i wonder if it weighs preference.

If 999 people have Moline, and 1 person have Milwaukee as their 1st choice... and then reverse for 2nd choice, will odds read the same? While in reality the dedicated Milwaukeean is a lock?

This is going to wreak havoc my emotions. Each time odds drop for shows I want, a little more fear, sadness and then panic seep into my being.

i see people waiting until the last minute so they can get a better idea of the 'actual odds'

But if everyone waits, those odds wont be actual either. I say put your stuff in now, get current odds, then you can always change your order. Don't see how there's any benefit to waiting till the end if a large portion of the fan base is doing that.

i wonder if the odds take into consideration the ranking..... in other words if 10,000 people put milwaukee as a choice (and there's 5,000 tickets for example), your odds would read as 50%.... but in reality of those 10,000 people, 8,000 of them have it as a #3 ranking or higher..... so if you put it as your #1 or #2, your odds are higher, actually 100%.

i'd actually like to see the odds listed if you've selected it as #1, that would give the people who are hitting fewer shows (or even one local show) a more realistic idea of their odds of winning. 'cause lets face it, if youre planning on hitting 5 shows or more, you're probably going to be going to those shows regardless of whether or not you get fanclub tickets.

And Detroit GA becomes our first contestant to drop below 99%, currently at 85%.

if it drops below 99%, would that mean all 2nd preferences go down to 0%?

the other thing is that if you've entered both for reserved and GA, i would presume your numbers are included for both and only 1 entry could win. which would marginally improve the odds but still would impact them.

I think Santos installed the odds feature just cause he knew it would F with members' heads more than the lottery already does.
There's probably a group of folks at 10 club HQ sitting watching the board and saying, "OK lets drop the odds for Denver to 37% and see the panic, now raise them back to 66%," then drop them to 29%...etc. etc.

I think it's actually the Canadian destination. Closest show to Toronto.
