Opinion on Indifference with Ben Harper

Just listened to the Vic show again, personally not a fan of him singing on Indifference in general. I just don't feel like it adds anything with having him sing, but he's friends with the band so I'm cool with it but just not really that into it.

Could do without Ben Harper on this song. Never really been a fan of his music.

Not a fan at all. It kills the song for me.

Yes, his instrumental effort is a great addition on Red Mosquito but this thread is about his vocal delivery on Indifference.

    C'mon, it was funny!^

BH is awful on indifference. He can not find the harmony on that song. Not sure how anyone enjoys this. It sounds like he's tone deaf...

No brainer. Keep him off the stage during Indifference.

I've no idea when it took place, but I heard an absolutely gorgeous Indifference version by these two.

I think it's the link that 2-feign posted up there though I can't check it out right now from work.

Anyway, some people's trash can bring another to tears with its beauty.

(one of many reasons I'm a proponent of the different strokes doctrine, since most things affecting the senses are incredibly subjective)

    NOPE, NOPE, NOPE!
BH wrecks that song on so many levels, it's like he's trying too hard to 'feel' the song.
    Just NOPE.

I really don't care for BH's singing on Indifference. I would much rather just hear Ed sing it.

I would rather have Ed sing it. The version at LA4 in 2009 is one of the worst. His "scream my lungs out" makes me cringe. I skip that song every time it comes on.

Eddie should always sing it - no Ben Harper.

And while were at it, perform it with the lights out!

Indifference now seems incomplete when I hear it without Ben singing too..

No BH here....I like quite a bit if his stuff, but he just oversings the crap out of Indiference, song with alpt of his own music.

Its shit. Hate when he sings on it. Usually skip to the next track if its not the last song

On the Vic show he sings it in a way so that he is completely out of sync with the audience. Sucks.
