Had a death in the family a week before Binaural came out. No song this band has put out has ever struck a chord the way Light Years did and still does. Pretty obvious what my vote is.

Light Years, not even close. The only good thing about Sirens is Stone's guitar work

I'm surprised at everyone...Sirens without question. It's an instant classic, Light Years shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence in my opinion.

Sirens along with Lightning Bolt off the new album are two of the best songs the band has created.

Sirens is a great rock/pop song for sure.

Lightning Bolt feels like it has no soul and is just a straight forward, derivative rock tune.

I know I'm going to regret dignifying this one, but....

Those aren't even close to being the best songs on Lightning Bolt, let alone the best songs they've created. Are we listening to the same band here???

Not that I think Sirens is all that great, but Light Years has never done anything for me. I'd leave to take a piss during Light Years before I would even flow.

It hink Light Years could have benefitted from just a taste of Sirens "sentimental cheese".

    But Light Years.

I totally agree. Don't get me wrong, I do like Sirens, but I dislike Light Years that much more.

This isn't even a comparison Lights Years is leaps and bounds, miles above just better on every conceivable level. That also isn't hard when compared to Sirens which is just bad *shudder*.

Light Years, and those two songs aren't even playing the same game in my opinion. Someone around here early on that Sirens reminded them of November Rain, and that has forever poisoned my opinion of the song. I don't mind slow or love songs. I like Just Breathe quite a lot, but Sirens does have way too much glam rock embedded in it. Light Years is straight PJ.

That's sad you don't like November Rain. Light Years and Sirens are honestly two totally different songs. Light Years is fantastic, I love it when I'm thinking of an old friend long gone. Sirens is a song about current love. I think about my wife when I hear this song. They have totally different meanings in my opinion. Damn that's really sad you don't like November Rain. Whether it's a GnR thing or Axel thing, the song is still pretty fucking cool, especially coming from that band.

Honestly the sad thing is that nothing Pearl Jam will ever do next will be "considered" great until 10 years later by members of this forum
