Not so much. It's okay but not as good as some in the past. You?

No, btw, I haven't spun it yet, and the odd thing is that the A for the A-side is etched on the side that shattered label is, and the B is etched on the 99 probllems label is, but since I haven't spin it yet, it could be either a misprint or the labels are just stuck the other way round... no big deal anyway, just commenting... still I don't like this single...
... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...
Yeah its ok. Played 'em yesterday, 99 Problems is cool but can't work out why they left WMA off the cut. And Shattered is a bit of fun.
Which is exactly what the Xmas singles have always been.

No, I hate it. Worst xmas single ever by far IMO. How is the PJ single a rap artist performing his own hit song? That's just stupid. And I think side B is just silly, and not in a good way. And very self-indulgent. Why are we listening to some weird performance of EV at a private function singing with some actress, and how in the world was it deemed good enough to actually put on vinyl???? If it was just a digital download for fun, that would be one thing, but they actually PRESSED these two songs?? Very strange decision in my view!
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
Yeah, so far this has been the one xmas single that I haven't gone back to. All the others have at least something that makes me want to, but I played this once on xmas and then forgot all about it.
From the titles, I expected both of these to be full PJ covers of the original songs. THAT would have made this single worth it. Here's to hoping this year's will be better.
It's just one more thing where I feel like Pearl Jam is losing it a bit. Don't get me wrong, I'm not whining - just a statement. I still appreciate what they do, but I feel like they're out of touch in a way.
Not really. Generally my favorite singles are the ones where they recorded a song in the studio (or soundcheck) so it feels like we got a new song. With the plethora of live material out there, I'm not as drawn to singles that only have live tracks on them.
In this case Eddie isn't really singing on either song. So you've got that and the fact the tracks are live...
The collector in me keeps subscribing to analog, but I should really grow some balls, go digital, and buy the single on ebay (or when 10c eventually offers it). I'd save about 20 to 25 bux/yr.
Haven't spun it, never will. :( 1st one I've not spun. Not into either track. I've seen the Shattered one on youtube & it did nothing for me & I absolutely don't even want to hear the other one.

In received it a while ago but first spin was last night. First heard shattered, but was like "hmm, why no ed vocals. Maybe he'll sing on 99 problems". Then flip it over and hear a jay z song. No Ed again and I don't even like jay z.
So conclusion. I don't like it. I have no reason to spin it again. In Canada the analog membership costs 50 bucks. So basically I paid $30 for this record because I see little value in the deep mag and they annual package (I think I got stickers?).

And Side B, I'm sorry - it's dreadful.
Seems ridiculous to have two live recordings that aren't even really PJ.
Shattered is.... different? :-??

What else is there to say after DURP and his avatar comment on anything.
Thread closed. DURP wins!
