Who wants to start the please play Release in Milano thread? In hiding, present tense, nothingman and other non greatest hit sing-along songs too. Fatal would be sweet too! That crowd, on a Friday night, is going to be incredible. It was in 2006 and the venue is what 3 times bigger this time? Can. Not. Wait!

    Updated to #45.

I highly recommend Rick Steve's Travel Guides to non-Europeans traveling in Europe. They are $12.99 or less on Amazon:

For those going going to multiple shows & beginners to European Travel: Europe Through the Back Door 2014

Traveling to multiple cities in Europe: Best of Europe 2014

Traveling to multiple cities in Italy: Rick Steve's Italy 2014

Traveled in Italy before and just hitting Milan: Snapshot Milan

I start vacation today for 20 days. Woohoo! So, I'll post more as I see it.

Other than that, a lot of us are going onward to Trieste and some have already made plans, but rianastudner asked me about the possibility of arranging a bus from Milan to Trieste. What do you guys think?

Don't hate me for this question I'm burnt out on travel planning - where you say
all these go to Milano Central Station (Stazione Centrale)
do you mean from any of those airports I can get a train to the Central Station?

Can anyone advise which airport has the easiest travel (or shortest travel time) to the Milano Central Station?

I've decided to fly in from Brussels the morning of the show.

No worries man. This set of links are courtesy of ero who did a fantastic job of putting them together. So if you fly into one of the three airports listed, the links are for transportation options that will take you from that airport to the Central Station. There is a variety of ground transportation types: shuttles, trains, & buses. Hope that helps. :)

I guess this is for me :)

What I mean is that there is a bus connection from all 3 airports to the Central Station. And all buses arrive at the same spot when they reach the station so none is really better than the other.
As far as time goes though, Linate (LIN) is the closest and the journey takes around 25 minutes. Both Malpensa (MXP) and Orio al Serio (BGY) are a bit further away and in both cases it takes around 50 minutes.

You're right though, I should put a disclaimer out there.

The books are geared to a certain style of traveler: one who isn't particularly fond of tour buses but wants to immerse oneself in the art, history, and culture of the locale. Most guidebooks tell you where to travel. These teach you how to travel and get the most out of your time and money. The books are #1 bestsellers for a reson.

I love the show but you're right it is heavy on art, history, beer, and museums. It's very PBS.

Here's a quote from Rick Steves:
"The more money you spend, the bigger the wall you build between yourself and the culture you traveled so far to visit. Stay in the small inns, eat in the family-style restaurants, visit out of the way places, rub elbows with the locals. You'll spend less money and have a great time in the process."

As far as I believe it was accurate but I do think it was on the viagogo site. http://www.viagogo.com/Concert-Tickets/ ... s/E-608772

What leads you to believe that it's not accurate? I'm pretty sure it's not a full stadium show like some seat maps depict.

Anyone going to Venice on Saturday? Looking for hotel recommendations...thanks!
I am! I have booked in Mestre, which is less less expensive than in Venise, and bus station is 2 minutes to arrive in Venise in 15min. Take a look on Booking.com there are 5 or 6 hotels that seems ok to me.

The fact that it's not the same map as on the ticketone.it site, which is the official ticket vendor. Viagogo is a scalper site that has had inaccurate maps before. There is nothing on ticketone that points to a separate golden circle. There might be a separate section in front of stage, but it will be on first come first served basis.
