Set List

01. Pendulum
02. Nothingman
03. Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town
04. Why Go
05. Hail Hail
06. Lightning Bolt-(from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)
07. Mind Your Manners-(from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)
08. Dissident

(Ed has the house lights turned up and comments that he recognizes many of the faces. Including a woman from Brazil who hands a sign to Eddie that says she was robbed while inside the building, (possibly just on the property it is unclear to me). She lost everything including her passport. Some fans helped her out in an unspecified manner and asked Ed to play “Faithfull” to thank those that helped her.)

09. Faithfull
10. Setting Forth
11. Corduroy
12. Even Flow

(Ed compliments Matt and Mike. The next song is about treasuring the things you love.
He goes onto talk about how it is incomprehensible that Cheney and his daughter don’t support same sex marriage even though the other daughter/sister is homosexual. Cheney’s wife’s plea to keep the matter private infuriates Ed because Cheney was the Vice President. He also thinks Cheney should be reminded every day that we are still cleaning up the mess his administration created. Lastly he suggests Dick Cheney take homosexuality one step further and make it single sex so Cheney can go fuck himself.)

13. Sirens w/sing along outro-(from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)
14. Daughter
15. Unthought Known
16. Let The Records Play-(from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)
17. Down
18. State Of Love And Trust
19. Better Man/Save It For Later-(Charley, Cox, Morton, Steele, Wakeling)

Encore Break 1
(Ed says he doesn’t know what day it is and isn’t supposed to because he plays in a rock and roll band but he knows it isn’t Sunday because the crowd is too good. He talks about all the friends they have here and that they don’t play here very often.)

20. After Hours-(Reed)
(Thanks Lou. Thank you Lou. We miss you Lou)

21. Yellow Moon-(from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)

(the band except for Matt all go and play to a riser on the side of the stage that has a bunch of people from Bridge School. The band stands on top of some empty trunks so they are the same level as the riser)

22. Last Kiss-(Cochran)
23. Just Breathe
24. Thin Air
25. Given To Fly
26. (Untitled)-prelude to MFC
27. MFC
28. Big Wave
29. Do The Evolution
30. New World w/John Doe-(Cervenka, Doe)
31. Porch

Encore

(Ed thinks the first time they played San Francisco was Sept 1991. It was the I-Beam.
The crowd probably came to see Screaming Trees or Alice In Chains not Mookie Blaylock.)

32. Smile
33. Crazy Mary-(Williams)
34. Black
35. Alive
36. Fucking Up-(Young)
37. Indifference

Please share your experiences of the show here...the Fanview threads are preserved on the board.

Please keep the Fanview threads for Fanviews. It's ok to begin another thread on discussions of other topics and/or debates.

Thank you! :)

Another fabulous show. What a week here in California. More later...

Pretty sure the set list is missing a song. They did Do The Evolution, think it was in the first encore IIRC.

    WOW

No words to descibe how good this set is. 37 songs long, this is long even for the mighty Pearl Jam!

Some of my favourites on this set as well, Thin Air, Faithful and Smile.

I am getting this as a bootleg if it's released

Lucky, lucky people for those in attendence.

Wow! Fun, fun, fun! Last of my three shows for the tour and first my wife was able to make with me. So much great stuff. Many songs that were dropped from the LA setlists. A couple of my wife's all time favs, Hail Hail, SMILE!!!! And there was a WMA tag on the end of Daughter. Honestly, I think the crowd was much more involved, maybe not better, but more involved on Sunday in LA, but Ed was talking shit about us, so whatever. Haha! John Doe, the Bridge School kids......just a great night. Thank you to the band, the crew and all us fans who have been incredibly cool these last three shows. I'm very sad thinking it's going to be several more years again before I get to experience this again.

I just got home from the show, and holy fucking shit, greatest show ever. Mike was a freaking maniac tonight, Matt was incredible as always, Jeff managed a ton of smiles which means he had a great show, Stone was being the awesome Stone as always, and Ed ended up being drunk but with an amazing energy.

The crowd was fucking amazing, we sang our hearts out from song 1 until the end.

I was at the rail inbetween Mike and Jeff and it was the greatest experience ever. Mike made eye contact plenty of times, something that was awesome personally.

This was also my wife's first PJ concert and she just told me it was the best concert she has ever been too.

Once again, when I think Pearl Jam can't get any better, they go an play an amazing set, with so many memorable moments.

A big thank you to the band, and all the amazing fans!

Amazing. Was in 101 Row 1 and Ed came and high 5vd everybody during Porch.

This show was endless in a great way and I knocked so many off my bucket list tonight (Thin Air, Smile, Big Wave)

I put this right up there with Phoenix and San Diego. Fantastic evening, wished it hadn't have ended. Thank you Oakland!

Wow, feel like I was at a different show than other folks. 18th show, 2nd on this tour (was at LA 1), and I'd rank this near the bottom of the shows I've been to. The crowd was generally dead. Even the GA section. It was a greatest hits setlist that was great for the casual fan but not so great for more hardcore fans. Lots of screw-ups on songs (Faithfull, Do the Evolution, MFC). Was really happy to hear Nothingman and Smile. Was my first time hearing Faithfull, but Mike's guitar issues kind of killed it. Outside of that, Mike was amazing. Really enjoyed his solos tonight.

But yeah, LA 1 was such a better show in every sense.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

I'm with the previous poster. This was my 53rd show, 9th on this tour, 5th on this leg. This show did not live up to Phoenix, San Diego and L.A. 1, in large part due to a lot of technical difficulties: Mike's guitar out of tune on "Faithfull," Ed getting shrill feedback a couple of times, spots not lighting when they were supposed to. It scores points for an unpredictable encore and impressive length. "Black" was a major highlight, searing and emotional. Mike just killed it on the solo.

And far be it from me to defend Dick Cheney, about whom I have almost nothing positive to say, but Eddie's rant was entirely misplaced because-- wait for it-- Dick Cheney actually supports same-sex marriage, as does his wife. It is their daughter Liz who doesn't.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Amazing show this evening. It's been seven long years since I last saw them (SF, 2006) and they rocked hard tonight. There were a few missteps along the way and some guitar troubles and missed vocals but the number of songs made up for it. Ed did say that if you wanted to see a perfect show that he's sure there is some other concert coming to the area in the next month. The show was 3.5 hours of pure awesomeness and I got to see a bunch of stuff I haven't seen live before.

I choked up a bit when he was singing to the Bridge School kids. I was in the pit towards the back and some woman kept her arms in the air for the entire show. I think she got lost on the way to a Phish concert. Same with a few others, but people were awesome in general and things were really well run for 10C tickets. My only other experience with 10C tickets was to see Eddie at the Pearl and that was a mess so it was nice to be in and out with tickets.

Even with the few screw ups this show was epic and Mike was on fire. I'll definitely pick this up as a bootleg when it comes out.

I would definitely agree about LA 1. That was my favorite of the four shows in CA. And yes, they had some issues tonight but I thought the encore was fabulous even with whatever happened during MFC.

Sorry Ed, but just because the race horse you backed hasn't done anything in 5 years, doesn't Make it cool to bash something that's 5 years removed. Talk about beating a dead horse... Let's move past the politics! And spreed and preach about good things!?

And start hating my comment now. Ready go!

This was my 3rd show bein in LA for for both nights. I'll be in Seattle and thankfully ending the tour in such a great city. The set was great in the show, Mike had great solos. Ed was funny as always and drunk at the end. This was my first PJ show up in the Bay area and the crowd here makes the LA crowds look insane. Even in LA half my sections were sitting down which was weak. My whole section here at Oracle I was at was sitting down throughout the entire show. Myself and the 2 girls next to me were the only ones standing from beginning to end. I thought I was going to get complaints for standing up the whole time. Also I didn't see many fans wearing PJ stuff at this show. It felt a little different for me. Also when Ed was making it to hear the crowd sing, my whole section was completely dead, no one except the two girls next to me knew any songs. I even felt the guy who sat next to me at LA1 was more into that show and I caught him falling asleep during the set. I'm just glad I'll be in Seattle where it should be a great time in PJ's hometown.

Also for the next time PJ comes to the Bay area, can they ever have a decent looking poster? I mean seriously anyone who bought this poster needs to ask yourself is it worth 35? I'm just laughing at the ones who bought it to sell on ebay.

Just got home from Oakland, and it's 2:30 in the morning and I'm still trying to comprehend what I just witnessed. Incredible show and I was surrounded by great people in the GA. I will try to post more later after I process all this.

exactly...thats why i dont get why we have 150 thread months now who will be the opening band, why no opening band, when they will announce the opening band..
the answer is just one...NO band needs to open..
some dont get it..pj will be on stage 30 min after usual...with the opening band...
we all know what that means for the setlists

It is very annoying that the last 5 shows has an opener. I am hoping the set list isn't completely ruined by Mudhoney. No offence to them.

I've been reviewing the show in my head for a couple of hours now ... and despite a mediocre crowd and a few(very) minor flubs here and there ... my buddy and I have decided that there can't be another band on the planet who rivals the level that Pearl Jam is performing at right now.

The boys are seriously playing OUT OF THEIR MINDS! Other musicians who come to the shows must be leaving thinking "Wow, WTF was that?!" I know that a few have said as much on their twitter accounts already.

I mean, this is some legendary shit we're witnessing. I'm so proud to be a card carrying member of the Ten Club. I also want to point out that Mike has risen to a level that doesn't seem possible. AN ABSOLUTE BEAST!!!!!!! It really is impressive to watch.

This is special, folks. This is a moment in time that I won't ever forget. This band is at the top of their game. Hell, this band is on top of every other bands game. I brought my friend to his 2nd show ... and during Indifference ... he grabbed my arm and leaned in to thank me for introducing him to "the magic" that is Pearl Jam.

    I haven't stopped smiling since. :D
