I'm sorry to be crass, but it sounds like Corduroy has been castrated. That said, if he's a fan then I can't complain.

omfg did those chicks "dancing" in the back even have a clue what this song is...i had prodigys first song off their fat of the land album going through my mind the entire time

    Uh.... no thanks.

The only nice thing I have to say is that they at least made it their own.

He's very talented and gave a great effort, but mid-90s angst-ridden Pearl Jam doesn't lend itself very well to the indie sound. I do think it's cool to see a different interpretation of the song, though.

When pj covers a tune, it still sounds like the original with some ed ved and mcready twists. So why do others that cover pj tunes need to butcher them and make them completely different songs? I think one of the only covers I like from other artists is Aaron Lewis when he covered black.

check out seether covering immortality. very well done by them..

not a fan of this version either. i like the break down at the end where they go crazy but just wasn't feeling it overall
My favorite Pearl Jam song: "Corporate Greed Boat Asshole Behind a Counter in the Oval Office"

Always weird to hear someone cover one of your favorite songs from your favorite band. That being said, that was awful.

This guy's a too little limp-wristed to be jammin' on this groove.

    First things first..

Robin Pecknold is a musical genius. Fleet Foxes are beautiful. Their music is beyond good. Beyond great.

    However.

His voice has no business singing Corduroy. This performance was a total disappointment in every way. Even that crazy jam couldn't make up for that rendition which I can only assume could have been done better by 5,345,136 Million garage bands in America. I award him no points. And may god have mercy on his soul.

Please do not let this performance dissuade you from listening to Fleet Foxes.

I'm going to forget I ever watched this. I like some Fleet Foxes, but this was, to be honest, well...garbage.

Yea, that was awful. That performance represents everything I hate about 99% of the Pitchfork rock set: polite, trite, maybe even ironic singing. Seriously, fuck that guy for getting on such a huge show and singing a really impassioned song like it was some cute, bashful sentiment.

But I thought the drummer was awesome. Great feel, great sound. I hope he hooks up with a committed singer.

Fleet Foxes are amazing. Great Seattle band

I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Note-for-note covers get old so I'm glad he did his own thing with it. No less passionate than the Bridge School version IMO.

It was a nice effort, they did a pretty good job.

His voice is to high for me. I did like the drums at the end. I would of like to have seen Aaron Lewis covering Release as I think that would of been sick. Ironically he is more "famous" now from his country kick which I think is terrible. That being said, I'll take any band covering Pearl Jam, Pearl Jam covering any band and of course Pearl Jam playing Pearl Jam.

I thought it was good. Loved that Dan Rossen was there. He is a fantastic guitarist (and song writer) and really made that performance.

I've never heard Fleet Foxes before.....and I had low expectations for this performance...but I ended up really enjoying it. I've never been a fan of Chris Cornell and I thought his performance of Footsteps was somewhat boring...but I felt this cover of Corduroy was actually interesting.

You could dismiss the song, but don't dismiss the artist. Fleet Foxes are one of the absolute best bands out there today. Supremely talented in a sea of garbage. Apples to Oranges compared to Pearl Jam's music, but you'd be missing out if you didn't give em a listen:
