Brooklyn 2 vs MSG 2 2010

I was at both and looking for opinions. Which do you think was better. Both were amazing

I agree. While last night was great (better than prob 40 other show crowds I've been at) I don't understand the MSG comparisons. I can still here that nights betterman in my head. Corduroy kick in the teeth to start and just the way the crowd fed off of it.

Wasn't at 2013 but the 2010 MSG crowds were insane. Both nights. The loudest I've ever heard! And I've seen shows in Europe ;)

Europe definitely has more energy, jumping clapping etc, but besides the South American shows, I've never heard a louder crowd (in person or on cd)

Just listen to the audience response from Betterman 2010. When Ed sings " oh ohh oh ohh oh oh" the crowd drowned him out repeating it! He even says "YOU GOT IT" and laughs at just how loud and incredible it was. Crazy.

    Instinctive answer...

I do not remember ANY shows first set blowing me the fuck away like that! Those first 20 songs last night was like a Mohammad Ali knockout in the first round! I was GEEKING out going into 1st encore, I knew right after that first set that this was gonna get real crazy REAL FAST!

Not saying it was better, just sayin...

If we are talking crowd and all that shit, then 2010 hands down was collectively better. I know me personally kicked ass both nights like fucking Bruce Lee... But from a strictly band performance.... music, songs, progressions, crispness of their perfectness. Ummmm, last night was fucking Magical! I think the band felt the same as well... ;)

I'd probably give the nod to MSG 2 2010 but both were fantastic and had a similar vibe. It may just be a matter of personal preference on set list MSG 2 - Breath, Black Red Yellow, Hunger Strike, Push me Pull me, Slow Lukin, Sweet Lew (which was kind of cool to see, even though not my favorite song) - Brooklyn 2 - Wash, Blood, All those yesterdays. The MSG show blew my mind just a little more.

Frankly, I keep on going back to Brooklyn 1 in my head - I thought that set list was almost perfect. It really flowed well. I had given up on hearing Oceans and loved hearing it as the starter for the encores (plus we got Release and Sleight of Hand). And Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns blew me away. Not saying Brooklyn 1 was better than either the MSG 2 show or Brooklyn 2, but I wouldnt put it too far behind those shows. I would have been really bummed to have missed it.

I was at both. MSG 2 2010, but it's soooooo close. Can't wait to get these boots... they gotta be doing them, right??

Also can't wait to see them at the new MSG... you KNOW they'll be back for that.

i was at both. MSG2s crowd was a little bit better but setlist wise despite MSG getting Hunger Strike, Lukin 2, and Black Red Yellow id go with Brooklyn 2. Bands energy/performance were very similar, they killed both nights. when i left MSG 2 i said no way anything can top this (i was at the 4 Philly shows in 09 too) but now im replaying Brooklyn 2 in my head so right now id lean with Brooklyn 2. the clincher may just be because of Lightning Bolt being better for the setlist than Backspacer was.

    "And away we go..."

I gotta be honest, my memory stinks. I was at MSG 2 and Brooklyn 2 and what I remember from MSG 2 is the idea that it was amazing. I remember leaving and saying, "this is now at the top of the list". I vividly remember Betterman, and my favorite song (Present Tense) and I know it was great...but it was 3 years ago and I've been to a lot of shows since then. Anyone else have this problem or do you all remember it like it was yesterday?

Brooklyn 2 was the best show since MSG 2 that I've seen. Funny how my top shows were all right in a row:

    Spectrum 4
    Spectrum 3
    MSG 2

This almost broke the string of power shows, ha.

That is a whole other matter -- for me, Philly 3 was better than both MSG 2 and Brooklyn 2. In the end, I'm glad i got to see all three of those shows, plus MSG 1 and Brooklyn 1. Its a nice problem to have -- debating which show you attended is best among those incredible shows! I feel very fortunate to have been able to attend them.

Ditto... Brooklyn II was amazing but there was just some extra special about the MSG II show. Hunger Strike with Ben Bridwell was also a high point of that show for me. But def one of my favorite set lists! And I love that the Betterman from that night is in the doc.

I was at both as well and MSG 2 2010 was better IMO. Not to slight BK2 but there is something about MSG that gives it that "magical" feel. Barclays was nice it's just not the Garden.

MSG II for me. I liked the setlist better. The crowds were about the same, maybe slight edge for msg.

Wasn't at msg 2 2010, but went to msg 1 and 2 in 2008, and my feeling now is that Brooklyn 2 was better than both those!
