Best process for getting highest quality audio into iTunes

I ordered the vinyl and have access to 4 types of audio: mp3, lossless, flac, etc. which type should I import into iTunes for highest quality audio and what are the steps. I also use iTunes Match.

    iTunes doesn't handle FLAC so I always do WAV then convert to Apple Lossless

    But essentially anything lossless would do the trick ;)

    I do directly Apple lossless. Converting staff requires some extra middle programs, which I dont wanna deal with.

    How do I convert files to apple lossless? Can i do it using iTunes only? BTW, i have a mac.

    The lossless file available is Apple Lossless

    The lossless files from 10C are Apple Lossless already...

    xACT is a program that I use on Mac to convert files from one type to another.

    What about for windows . . . . Lossless as well? Just save to your desktop, open itunes, drag into itunes? Thx in advance

    I'm curious about this too, when I had to update itunes I couldn't drag music into itunes any more. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get the digital files into itunes on a PC?

    Yes, Lossless as well. I'm not certain about the drag and drop deal but I assume you should be able to do that. Or in iTunes I think it's "File" then "Add to Library". Then navigate to the folder where the files are and select them to import to iTunes.
