Sadly no Canucks game to catch while we're there. If you can really rent gear + outfits for skiing that is damn tempting! early morning skiing on the day of the show... :D I can't go to Canada and not ski there once, that's impossible!
Double check out the clothing rental, but I know I've seen that in Whistler at least, so it's pretty likely that Cypress might have something like that too. :) Alternately, you can probably get a (not necessarily very attractive) ski outfit from the Salvation Army or Value Village for less than $30. :)

I checked, they have it listed on their website! woo the pictures look gorgeous too! :)
 It's a great mountain! Amazing views of the city, it's NIGHT skiing, which is fantastic (I think they're open 3 or 4 - 11pm), and ski runs to suit all tastes. Only thing is that the beginning of December MIGHT be a bit early for good snow. Depends on the year. That is pretty much the very beginning of their season if the weather cooperates.

Yes, that's what I thought as well. Seasons round here usually start the first weekend of December, earliest last weekend of November if there's snow already. I'll see what the weather and snow stats are like, but thanks for suggesting this in any case! :)

I'm hoping to arrive 3 or 4 days early to do some skiing at Whistler before the show. Hoping the snow is decent for so early in the season. Anyone else thinking about hitting the slopes?

    Good summary Soul!
If it isn't raining, then Stanley Park is the number one place to go. Go for a walk around the seawall and through all the forest trails -

Personally what i miss about Downtown Vancouver most are those misty / drizzle walks through Stanley Park in Dec. and Jan. Air is fresh, clear, and humid. Put up the hood on your jacket and listen to the rain drops, seagulls and sounds of the park. Also nothing better than walking through a coastal rainforest WHEN IT IS RAINING! ;)

ChinaTown area is a good walk as well. Robson St. if you are into the shopping thing.

Definitely hit up Granville Island for lunch... Not a restaurant or the food fare area. Just stop an pick up some smoked fish here... a pastry there.. some fruit and a coffee etc... I miss Granville Island! Great souvenirs at Granville too. a hand painted west coast native art piece maybe?

I have a full day in Vancouver the day of the show before heading down to Seattle. You will see me at Granville Island and likely at a bar or two close to the arena!

    Enjoy!
IF NOTHING IS EVERYTHING, I'LL HAVE IT ALL.

I still have $40 in Canadian money from when I last saw PJ in Vancouver...

I looked at the TM seating chart the other day and it looks like they decided to withdraw all of the seats behind the stage because they weren't selling. Not sure what they might have done for those who had bought tix back there. can anyone confirm that the map reflects reality or say what they did with those tix already purchased if it does?

Can anyone tell me the deal with the return Bus that Amtrak puts you on to Seattle for our return trip home (from Vancouver) to Portland??? Anyone taken it?
They only have one train a day that goes between the 2 cities, the rest are trains from Portland to Seattle, (Seattle/Portland) then bus to Vancouver!

It takes way longer and it takes forever to get across the border.... one train a day = lame. :( But still... it gets you there. :)

We booked our train from Vancouver on the 5th. It's taking us into Seattle, early.

We booked a while back so possibly the train is sold out?

Didn't have any issues booking a train, not bus from Vancouver to seattle.

    Best of luck.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I have been reading all your bumps.
There are hardly any people from Vancouver on the boards ever ... Most Vancouverites don't seem to like to talk to strangers. So not too surprising that so few people are checking in for this show. Still a LOT of unsold tix too. Many behind the stage still available on TM, but there is also a GLUT of scalper tickets for sale. I'd say a couple thousand tix that went to scalpers are still unsold.
