So, Neil Young cancelled his Gothenburg concert..

... two hours before showtime at a festival here. This because of the guitar-player in Crazy Horse hurt his hand. The rest of the European tour was also cancelled. My brothers were standing and waiting for the concert, felt really bad for them but lucky me who hesitated going and deciding not to because of the expense (and choosing Soundgarden instead in September).
A lot of people were objecting to the fact that NY & company cancelled and not at least played that gig scheduled to start in 2 hours as a trio or that he played some songs solo/acoustic. I'm guessing this way of cancelling is for some contractual reason or something? People coming mainly to catch NY and have traveled far and with only 2 hours left being told he's cancelled when there is a possibility if he wanted to, to play for them in some form without the other guitar-player.
But also, what would Pearl Jam do? If there was two hours left till a show and Stone wouldn't be able to play - would they cancel or at least try to play that show without him and cancelling the following shows where people haven't traveled yet, haven't checked in to the hotels and haven't waited for that entire day for them.
What do you think? Neil Youngs way of doing it feels a tad "weird", in the 70's I guess he would have gotten up on the stage and done something for all the fans already gathered etc.

just saying
They are headlining a festival in VA in early September with the Crowes and Further. Now I'm concerned. Glad I didn't get tickets yet, as I was waiting for the single day.
isnt like ,let do that or let this guy play alone,or replace with that guy..
they have contracts they have the saying for all those details..
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
Sure, it sucks some fans don't get to see a show they were looking forward to - but if there is someone hurt, that's something I would hope everyone would understand.

But I'm not the one being pissed about it. I was not there. I was home playing Wii-U.
Great question, I was thinking the same exact thing when I watched that PJ 2003 behind the scenes video they just put out. With them horsing around and riding bikes and skateboards in the venue I wondered what they would do if Jeff or Mike injured themselves before a show. You can't play much w/out Eddie but could probably pull off a cool and interesting "different" set with someone missing. Who knows what they would really do but the band must play on...

PS IIRC U2 delayed a tour because of Bono's back a few years ago....A bit different as it wasn't right before a show like the NY guitar player.
