Giordonos is pretty amazing deep dish. As far as attractions, Millennium, grant park, and navy pier are pretty cool. Just being in the heart of downtown is an experience itself. Chicago is beautiful.

    Lou Malnati's is also delicious!

Also, skip the Sears Tower (Big Willie?). Head to the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock building. Food is pricey, but you can grab yourself a cocktail and seat at the bar to enjoy the view! No charge to go up, and usually no line to wait in either.

I also second everything this guy just said. The Sears tower (Willis to all non Chicagoans) is not worth the price to go up and just look out.

Skip Giordano's. The best is Pequod's.

The reason- cheese draped over the crust, resulting in carmelized crust. MMMMMMMMM

You want the Lincoln Park location.

Pequod's Pizza. Carmelized crust! Cross streets are Clyborn and Webster - a little off the beaten path but not too much. Just off of Lincoln Park neighborhood. As for cool sites, Lincoln Park Zoo (best free zoo ever!), lake front path (go for a run or a walk), and museum campus (cool views of distant city).

Giordono's, Lou Malnati's, and Gino's East are generally regarded as the best of the Deep Dish in Chicago. I haven't tried Pequods before myself.

For a traditional Chicago Dog I'd say 2 different places. Portillos is pretty much the flagship "franchise" one and they are always good IMO. The other one that I really like as an "experience" is Weiner's Circle on Clark near Diversey. If you search "Weiner's Circle, Conan O'Brien" you'll see a hilarious video of Ken the Page from 30 Rock and Triumph The Insult Comic Dog visiting there. That will give you an idea of what the place is like. It's one of those places where you are SUPPOSED to piss off the staff and trade insults with them! Go there after the show if you can during bar time and you'll get quite the experience.

The other place I'd highly recommend is Kuma's Corner and Kuma's Too. Kumas is basically a metal bar that makes about 10-12 different rotating kinds of gourmet quality burgers that are named after metal bands. It's seriously rated 37 out of 40 by Zaggat for the food and the best part of it to me is the waitstaff is all tattooed and Mastadon is blaring in the background but there's every walk of life inside from bikers to businessmen because of the food.

So there's your food tour of Chicago!

Oh, on the edge of a know-nothin' town
Feelin' quite superior, the aged come
To the sky above he just ain't nothin'
But he's got a great view and he sinks a pizza knife deep
    Can't touch the bottom
    In too deep dish.

That Kumas Corner place look pretty cool, if you have time to kill.

Lou Malnati's. Don't listen to these people that are saying Giordano's!

Pequod's is a close 2nd, but probably tough for a lot of the out of towners to get to since it isn't close to the train.

So skip Willis tower huh? First time I've heard that. Decisions decisions....

What about boat tours? Would you peeps recommend the river/lake tour where they take you out on the lake at night? Or is just the river during the day enough?

Yeah, Hancock is cool. And like someone else said, go up to the 95th floor there and have an extremely overpriced drink....incredible view of the city from up there.

The boat tours are great no matter what time you do it. Enjoy Chicago!

Hot Dougs. Get the Foie Gras dog with duck fat fries and one of the other specialty sausages.

Not a fan of deep dish but what I've seen of Lou Malnatis and Pequods might change my mind.

    Smoque if you're into barbeque.

Big Star Tacos (mexican inspired) and Cemitas Pueblo (mexican authentic)

But my favorite by far is Kuma's.

Oh and Nick and Vito's for the other, better Chicago pizza. I would consider it more of a midwest style than Chicago style as its very popular all over Indiana too. I love it

Pequod's. Incredibly, only had this for the first time 2 weeks ago, since I usually just hit up Piece in Wicker Park. Totally destroys all the others all far as Chicago deep dish goes. If you can't get to it, settle for Lou Malnati's.

    1) Pequods
    2) Lou's

    3) Gino's
    4) Giordanos

The first two are far better than the last two.
