Still have to be in the club to get GA tickets so yes, if those are the tickets you want, seniority is out the window.
The thing that gets me is show priority. We'll see how it goes but I suspect that if you're an east coaster you'll be lucky to get one show and you can forget about multiple. But I could be wrong. We'll have to wait and see.
Remember, only one show per city (LA, Philly, NY) per person. This could be a good thing, as more people have a chance to win tickets to those cities.
You can probably forget about three or four shows, but two shows in different cities should happen.
And remember, when you win a ticket, there's always that extra one...someone else may have an extra for you.
Remember too that the 10C also has side-stage seats which will also be alongside the pit.
Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"
Pardon my ignorance, but was seniority a factor in OBTAINING tickets back in the F5 days? I seem to remember my chances (myself, a fan club member since 2003) at getting tickets prior to this new lottery system were the same as those individuals who had been in the fan club since 1992. I, for instance, had the same chances of getting PJ20 fan club tickets as someone who has been with 10C for 10 years more than me. Same goes for the Vic show, EV solo shows, whatever.
The whole "my seniority means nothing when getting tickets argument!!" should have been made 10+ years ago, no?
Also, if seniority were the sole factor in the obtaining fan club tickets, there would be no incentive for new members to join the fan club (thus, a poor business decision by the band).
*thinks about it*

I do believe you're absolutely right. As far back as 2003, a member with 15xx had the same exact chance as someone as 260,xxx...unless I'm horribly mistaken.
Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"
I'm confused  Being able to get tickets the last few years has never been by seniority, just luck (or perseverance, or abusing the system, or calling in sick to your job..whatever). Then if you got the tix your seats were seniority based, just like now, no?
The Highest in Seniority, who are mad because they will no longer get good seats to every show. But at least they had them!
The lowest in seniority, who don't have to wait to rise in seniority because now they can get GA tickets. So they are mostly pretty happy.
Then there is the group that no one talks about who is getting screwed more than anyone... the middle seniority, especially those who never won lottery rows. They put in nearly as much as the high seniority folks, and never got the amazing seats. To make matters worse, this group is getting up in years, and if they opt for seats, the best will still be taken by the highest in seniority.
...
Which is why the best thing to do would be to go back to only allowing one pair per tour.
The same people won't be in the same seats every gig. They can still attend the show.. with the tickets they bought from TicketMaster.
The only way you can help those with higher numbers... flip the seating at those cities with more than one gig. Take the highest numbers and put them in front... basically, sort in asending order.
...
You'd still get complaints... but, that's one of the things Pearl Jam fans do best... complain, regardless of what is done to try to improve things.

As for the random, 10C GA section at the front of the venue, I understand your complaint in reards to seniority. A person's seniority means less now in regards to where in the arena they sit. That seems to have been steadily eroded in recent years but not dramatically. A fan club member since 1992 does not mean you are sitting in the last row of the floor. You might be one or two rows behind the pit or — God forbid — two rows up next to the stage.
Just my thoughts. Good luck to all in the lottery.

more or less priority does this thing..almost sure u get only one pair per tour..so more different fans get the fan club tix..sounds good to me..even when i go for shows i go for more than, one,i think is away more fair different members get the tickets

I guess a lot of members are in places that PJ don't come to often. I had to wait 11 years for Pearl Jam to come back to NZ (and they came to Australia twice in that time). Did I hope that someday seniority would count for me when they canme back? Sure, but it wasn't the main reason I kept up my membership. When they finally came back, I had a hell of a time up front in GA and I was gald to see them in my country!
If getting "the best" tickets is the main reason you're in the club, maybe you should reevaluate your priorities. I would argue that the ticketing benefits have been getting steadily and steadily more valuable as time has gone on. Disproportionately so, in fact.
Originally, you could get tickets to a show on the tour, that's great, right? Especially when tickets were so hard to come by. Then they realised they should reward longer serving members to retain members between tours, so introduce seniority. Then, attendance dwindles bit so open it up to multiple shows per tour, as many as you like. Suddenly you have a group of fans that a "guaranteed" front row, following the whole tour and camping out up front. I do not believe that was the original intention of the ticketing scheme.
I get that other long term fans feel like they've been shafted but I think they are just redressing the balance. Things had skewed too far towards the senior fans, so this is helping to even it out. The fact that you have to prioritise your tour should mean that more fan club members get to see shows. This is a good thing, isn't it?
I would think most arenas would fit at least 2,000 people in 1/3 - 1/2 of the floor for GA, maybe more. Then they're getting some proportion of seats too. There might be more tickets available than ever before.

Sorry to rant and get on my soapbox, but I am trying to understand the benefits of being in the fan club? I have been a member for over 15 years, and have been to every tour since No Code. I have been fortunate enough to have great seats and use the perks of the Ten Club on multiple occasions. However, I am trying to figure out why one would stay in the fan club, because seniority means nothing anymore. The only advantage that I can decipher is you get better seating IF you are fortunate enough to win the lottery for premium seating (non GA). Last July, I was very excited to see the band in Prague, my 2nd time seeing them in Europe (Dublin 2000). In Prague, the seating was coordinated very similar to this fall's tour, 10C members were allowed to enter the GA announce (pit) early (I had hoped that was just a European tour thing and would not be repeated in the U.S.). Well, any member can line up days in advance and be there right at the stage for GA. So, the only benefit was being able to get tickets in the first place. Then, for Chicago, I lost 2 lottery opportunities. At first I was very frustrated by this, but told myself that surely there was no way they would do a tour in the same fashion (lottery). After 15+ years in the 10C, I would like to see multiple / sequential shows, but there is a real chance that you may not get any tickets, or it may line out to be 2 weeks apart, requiring multiple flights, etc. I'm sure the 10C doesn't use any complicated algorithm, similar to the NBA lottery and the number of ping pong balls, to give senior members a better opportunity at tickets, so why not join the day before an anticipated announce, and hope to get lucky with tickets like everyone else? Sorry for the rant.
Im so sick of this argument....give up your membership then, one less person in front of the rest of us

I'm starting to think you are right. Everyone should put in their priority for shows, and everyone should get one pair based on seniority. If there are any left, they should be given out via lottery.
But the problem with flipping the seating is that the people in the middle still get screwed.

this is where I am. I am only 5'6" and knew I would end up in a seated area to the side of the stage most of the time. Now I fear with the bump ill end up in the back of the floor... which for me, honestly isnt even worth going. I dont think ga is a good idea as ill be recovering from knee surgery
If you have to travel to see them, because they're not playing near you that's one thing. Other than that scenario, I think you should be allowed to enter the lottery for your local show only (or state that you live in) only, or just be allowed to enter the lottery for 1 show (if you have to plan your vacation around a band), or etc., etc.
I miss the Vs., Vitalogy, Binaural tours where we just mailed in a form, and were guaranteed duckets for that show. From what I remember, you were allowed to send in form for only a single show (pretty sure that was the deal).
"Locals Only." And stay outta SoCal, 'cuz you're gonna move West soon enough like everyone else from NY, Boston, et. al. Hahahaaa, just kidding... Kinda.
If anyone does not see any benefit to the ten club then they should not buy a ten club membership or renew a ten club membership. Is it not that simple?
Try being a member for a long time and having them play close to you only once. I have had only 2 concerts that were within a 2 hour drive in 10+ years of membership. The rest have been at least 6 hours away.
The only people we should try to get even with...
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.

This is why I gave up my membership a couple years back. Re-thinking that decision now with a tour that's at least coming within a 4 hour drive. If you have the means, overpaying an online scalper for a couple good seats is always going to be the way to go, unfortunately. That's just life.
I'm not mad and enjoy my membership whether I go to shows or get shut out.
It's more the commitment level and I don't think I'm done yet. as long as they have a "membership" I will be a member. like an old car you got too much money into, my hubby says "we got too much into it, can't sell it now". I made it 15yrs, what's another 15?
It's not an ideal world and I think the server issues became an "in their face" issue with PJ20, there was just way too much flac. I'm glad they did what they thought was good for the "needs of the many".
live long and prosper

There might be more tickets available than ever before.

this is where I am. I am only 5'6" and knew I would end up in a seated area to the side of the stage most of the time. Now I fear with the bump ill end up in the back of the floor... which for me, honestly isnt even worth going. I dont think ga is a good idea as ill be recovering from knee surgery
Kinda.
...are those who've helped us.
