Under 35 and 10C# under 150***? Rollcall?
It's weird to read comments about all the lame-o, energy-sapped "old-timers" at the front. The way some folk are going on about it makes me wonder if I ought to be discarding my rockpants in favour of polyester, elastic-waisted Mom Pants and a colour-matched cardigan.
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person here who is under 35 years old with a 10C number lower than 150***. I recall seeing posts that validate my suspicions, but it's kind of hard to search for. I'm feeling lost in-between the (so-called) n00bs of all ages and the (so-called) l33ts who are 10-20 years older, and I'm feeling the need to find my people. Where ya' ats? I'm lonely. I'm curious about your perspectives; I've a feeling our wee subgroup would have a variety of opinions and experiences, since we were pretty young when PJ became humongous big & toured more frequently. So many variables to consider, like if your parents were cool with taking a 13-year-old you to a huge rock show. My parents were cool, but weren't that cool.
(I think those who are 34-35 were probably able to get to a couple of shows since they'd have been in their mid-teens, but I figured I should have a round number.)
I'll check in tomorrow after I remember that I made this thread. Goodnight, everybody!

bring on the GA! (although if i do actually get GA my wife won't come with me)
London and Wrigley will be my 56th & 57th shows and I've never experienced and/or been witness to the "lame floor crowds" that have been called out here in various threads over the years. Having toured consistently behind the band every year since '96 except '97, '99, and '01 I have to say anything and everything that can be done and is being done to mix things up at shows gets a thumbs up in my books in terms of the lottery for rows and now the GA section on the floor. The band saw just how well the GA section worked at the '12 Missoula show so it's no fluke that an entire tour will support the same configuration. For those that now earn the right to be rocking in GA I say enjoy yourself and I salute you. I'll be at the back of the GA section at Wrigley with a soda in my hand still rocking out.

Being in the Boston area, I usually get somewhere in the 4th-8th row depending on the venue. I loved cramming my way to the front of a GA show back in 96, and will be happy to do it again if I get GA for this tour.
I won't be trying for any GA this tour. I'm going for a different perspective in a reserved seat setting. I can also only make 1 show and going with the best "odds" of getting into it.
I'm also going to withhold judgement on the GA/reserved until I witness a show that has it.
Now the lottery, that's a different story. I hate it (and it's been good to me).

I found it entertaining that 10c noted that you will have to stand the entire show if you are in GA. As if I have ever felt the top side of my seat at a Pearl Jam show, regardless of where my seat was at.
I'm so excited for the GA on this tour!
Can't wait to see everyone at the shows!
I didn't join the club until my early 20s. Always meant to join in my teens, but, other priorities (beer/girls/other "stuff") were more important. Hell, I didn't go to a show until my future wife suggested we make a trip to Toronto to see them.
Anyways, it's like your age, just a number. You want to be a big fan? Then your a fucking big fan by my standards, no matter the 10C number, number of shows, tats, or whatever. Enjoy the music and have fun.
First show was Soldier Field and I haven't missed a Chicago show since, excluding the Vic. I'll be in the GA/Pit for Wrigley and will make sure to represent the fans that were smart enough to see how awesome this band is from a young age...
As I said in another thread, if there's any "lack of energy" it's due to being confined to a small space with two chairs and two people flanking you. I doubt anyone judging from the wings or balcony were blowing it out any harder, but just trying to stir shit.
I joined in Summer '96 and started by waiting in line for 6 hours to get center rail at Randalls night 1-'96 and fought to stay afloat but that was a different time...I'm all for switching it up...I won 2nd row lottery night 1 at PJ20, and the worst seats I had at all 4 Spectrum shows was 15th row...so I can't complain...and to be honest, I've had my GA pit battles and some other people need to experience it...I'm going for reserved mostly, but GA as backup for my shows...I'm bitter my seniority won't fly on the floor anymore, but hopefully there's good side stage seats!

my seniority has never helped much in pearl jam shows but it has proven itself a time or two at eddie solo shows ... i am SO very fortunate to have won the lottery for wrigley GA ... CAN*T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT! first time in GA for a monumental gig!
i've seen some great shows... been front row a few times... but I will be honest... the energy up front has been lacking lately IMO.... especially at the major city/destination shows... just because people are standing doesn't mean they are rocking out.
i have gotten my ass kicked in a few PJ pits over the years... so I'm not worried about 10 club general admission.
Bring it on... seats or GA, I am ready!!!

So, the protocol is the more aggressive you are with the other fans, the more closer you deserve to be? I feel like you can be into it without pushing and constantly trying to get in front of others. I think thats the idea behind the line and rush to get on the floor first. I'm def not pro GA, but I hope if i do put in the time in line and get a spot up front, I won't have to spend the hole time pushing people off my back.
