Filming a documentary at Wrigley Field

Hey everyone, I'm filming a documentary in Chicago for the Wrigley Field show for a website I recently launched, http://www.fantrotter.com. It's the first and only site to help fans plan travel to see their favorite bands, sports teams and other events by showing estimated ticket, flight, hotel and car rental prices for every scheduled date in one fast and easy search. (And soon we'll be adding estimated costs for train, bus, self-drive etc, as well as enabling people to communicate about carpooling, tailgating, giving each other travel advice etc.)

I think a website like this for fans is long overdue, and we plan to build a big community of people who love to travel for events. (We call it "fantrotting") In the documentary we want to interview people who have traveled a great distance to be at the Wrigley Field show and highlight their stories about why they did it, what it took to be there, and how much it means to them. If you are interested in being interviewed we will be more than happy to meet up with you somewhere in Chicago or at Wrigley Field before or after the show. The Fantrotter crew will be in town from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon. Just email me at <a href="mailto:mikec@fantrotter.com">mikec@fantrotter.com</a>. The documentary will be posted in all our social media channels and we are in talks with some major online distribution outlets to get it syndicated.

UPDATE 10/14/13

Hey everyone, the initial documentary video is finally ready, just in time to coincide with the album release and the N.A. tour!

This is the short version, at 8 minutes and 20 seconds running time. A longer, more detailed version, running closer to 30 minutes and elaborating on many of the answers and stories we heard from fans, is still in the works.

We had a blast meeting and interviewing people from all over who had traveled to be at the Wrigley show, and we were humbled by the passion and dedication of PJ fans to go to great lengths to see this band.

This is awesome, cant wait to check it out. Hopefully we will get to see you at Wrigley!! I've got a good story to tell...the price I am paying to see my FAVORITE band!! And how much my life has changed from the date I purchased the tickets to the day I touch down in Chicago!! Very interesting

This sounds great!

Me and my pal are from Mexico and we are going to the show. First time in Chicago.

We have a phrase for Pearl Jam music, we say that "Pearl Jam heals", it may sound cheesy but in difficult times of our lives PJ music has been there to "comfort" us and, in a way, "heal" us.

We are truly big fans of PJ.

So far we have 7 people traveling from all over the US and Europe.

Question: Does anyone think we'll have a problem bringing a Canon 60D camera into the show? We'll be using it to film the documentary in the Wrigleyville area before the show and plan to go straight in.

QUESTION:

Hi 10C, what will be the policy for bringing camera @Wrigley?
Can I bring my Canon 60D inside, I’m gonna be sitting in the Upper Section…

ANSWER IS:

No Camera's with detachable lenses. Point and shoot only please.

Hope everyone had a blast! We got close to 20 interviews from people who had traveled from all over the place to be at the Wrigley show. It will take some time for us to edit the footage together, and we estimate that the documentary should be ready to watch within a month or so. We'll post again here with the link when it's up. In the meantime, bask in the fact that we got Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns!!!

Thanks for checking in. Unfortunately things have been hectic and we haven't made much progress yet, but we hope the video will be done in just another couple of weeks.

Yes, we are about 80% done!We got some great answers as well as some longer stories and have decided to put out 2 versions: 1) A short form documentary under 10 minutes capturing the short answers, and 2) and a long form documentary closer to 20 or 30 minutes which will include the longer answers and stories.

We hope the short form doc will be ready in just another week or 2, while the long form will probably still take a month. Editing is a lot of work! But we're getting there.
