I always thought "Thumbing My Way" would be a good song for a funeral.

Pearl Jam and only Pearl Jam. My family knows and I will formalize it after I create the set list. But I'm thinking I might just request that my favorite live show boots get put in the CD player and the random button be pushed. Then everyone should start getting hammered and eating like gluttons!

    Peace.

No actually, I'm donating my body to science, so if there is a memorial, the only request I've made is for the Who's The Song is Over.

Long Road...have already made this clear to my wife and children.

On a lighter note, I always thought that a 1/2/3 punch from Alice in Chains would be totally appropriate:
    1) Man in the Box - At the funeral
    2) Down in a Hole - During the interment at the graveyard
    2) Over Now - After graveside service concludes

    What do you think? 8-)
    8/25/92 – Charlotte, NC
    10/4/96 – Charlotte, NC
    8/4/00 – Charlotte, NC
    4/16/03 – Charlotte, NC
    9/5/05 – Edmonton, Canada
    6/16/08 - Columbia, SC
    6/17/08 - VA Beach, VA
    6/26-27/12 - Amsterdam, NL (I and II)
7/19/13 - Wrigley Feild, Chicago, IL
    10/30/13 - Charlotte, NC
11/22/15 - Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

I've given my kids and my husband my songs as well. Of course Long Road. But, as the funeral is ending, I want the most perfect swan song* of all time played -- The End by the Beatles. Ringo's drum solo, then Paul, George & John taking turns three times on their guitars, and then that final amazing harmonizing one last time for that perfect last verse summarizing what they gave to us. Man, I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking about it now.

*For you Beatles fans out there, Her Majesty wasn't supposed to be at the end of Abbey Road. A sound engineer stuck it on after the recording session. The End really was supposed to be the end song of the end album.

It was supposed to be sandwiched between Mustard and Pam.
