That's the polite way of saying, "I dont want to be bothered"

Really people? This person just met EV and he get's a bunch of negative comments? WTF. I guess you folks meet EV everday? Good on you for meeting him friend. The more I'm on this site the more I realize PJ has a ton of bitchy cynical fans who never seem to be happy, even when a friend meets EV.

However, you are right, it's not a 5 hour flight from LA to Seattle...

it was like just 2 guys running into each other at a show yet one of them is in the biggest band in the WORLD...

so he brushed past me and stood on my right. I noticed he had the PJ green lumber jacket on and I think "I have that jacket" then split second later I look and notice it's Eddie Vedder...played it cool...I tap him on the arm "hey Eddie!" nothing since Deathfix was finishing their set. Then I ask "did you just get here?"...he just missed Deathfix's set (seemed out of breath like he was sprinting to the venue, I've done that :) and caught the end of the last song which sucks becuz they only played for 1/2 hour...there was a couple there that got a photo w/ him later on...then everyone enjoyed Ted Leo while Eddie & Brendan Canty stood in audience cheering, having a good time...best Friday night in a while 8)

yeah I thought he flew in from LA or Hawaii...LA to Seattle isn't 5 hours but if you count all the shit we go through w/ TSA, etc. these days then...

It is pretty cool meeting him and I'm usually not one to care much about meeting anyone. When my wife and I talked to him she explained that she had never been a fan until I introduced her to their music. He was like "alright...got pulled in to the wave eh?" and gave her a hug, then he turned to me and said "a hug for you for bringing her into the fold" and he leaned in and gave me a hug. I HATE the word "surreal" but if it ever applied, it would have been at that moment. Pretty stellar event I must say.

Now thats great to hear. I hope if I ever meed Eddie he treats me like this. I'm after meeting Mike,Jeff, Matt and Boom and they were all really really nice. And it is indeed a surreal thing to meet the members of your favorite band.

Very cool. I met Stone once at the shop in NYC I work at. I actually hung out with him for a few minutes and bullshitted. It was great because he wasn't in the power position I imagine they are when they meet fans since I was managing the store and he needed my advice. One of the nicest dudes ever.

Saw Deathfix in Vancouver the night before. Great live band. Too bad there were only 13 people there to see them...and that number includes 3 members of the opening band. They were good sports though and played like the place was full.

    Is it a costume shop?

haha, i wish. that would be awesome. it's a cigar shop. he was buying for their tour manager who apparently is a big cigar smoker. i'm sure they were staying across the street at the Soho Grand. he bought him some nice stuff as a thank you gift. eddie has been in a lot and always buys our vintage lighters. i haven't been in when ed ever stopper by infortunately. didn't feel like using caps in this paragraph. but now i regret it.

I admit... I would vomit like
Stan Marsh from South Park when he see's Wendy.

I've met many "famous" people. But I don't think I could run into a member of PJ without taking a sedative first.

It's always awkward . Maynard has said something about this. He's not always working. He likes his days off.
He doesn't want to talk to a mushy fan when his shopping with his wife and kids.

I would have a sheetload of questions for him (them .. Pearl Jam) , and he's just off duty so it wouldn't be fair.

This is awesome! Always cool when you meet someone really famous or someone you look up to.

I had the chance of meeting him after his Hartford show in 2011. I started to stutter at first as I shook his hands, but managed to say "Thank you for all the great music you've given us these last twenty years" and he appreciated it and said "Thank you." He's the most famous person I've ever met.
