THANK YOU TRENT!

NOTE FROM TRENT:

Nine Inch Nails are touring this year.

I was working with Adrian Belew on some musical ideas, which led to some discussion on performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be, and the idea of playing a show. Calls were made to some friends, lots of new ideas were discussed, and a show was booked - which led to another, which somehow led to a lot of shows.

The band is reinventing itself from scratch and will be comprised of Eric Avery, Adrian Belew, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis, Ilan Rubin, and me. The first shows will begin this summer, followed by a full-on arena tour of the US this fall, and lots of other dates worldwide to follow through 2014.

Lots of details and dates to come. See you soon.

really hoping this will coincide with the release of the Wave Goodbye Tour DVDs that Rob Sheridan hinted about several times a few years back. Those shows were incredible!

Good News...How To Destroy Angels and all those movie scores were just not my thing.

How to Destroy Angels sucks... I was cool with the movie scores and that business. Trent is a helluva producer

Glad NIN is back and I cannot wait to catch a show
  • Thank fuck for that! Best music news I've heard in a while :D
  • Hells Mother F'n yeah!! :D Saw this earlier today and was gonna post a thread untill I saw this at the top of the page. Seriously, this news just made my fricking week. Have been going thru some rough stuff recently but nothing could put a smile on my face more then 1of my top 2 favorite bands returning from hiatus! Can't wait! NIN.com just changed their front page. It now reads NIN ~ Twenty Thirteen in giant font. Here's the original article on pitchfork... http://m.pitchfork.com/news/49681-trent ... -and-2014/

same here. the power of music!

Trent and Dave Grohl are what music should be--pure love of art. If only Rage, Tool and these days even PJ could re-discover that.

+1 Its a beautiful thing. When you 'get' a band and can share that with others, its almost like speaking a cool, unique language that only a few understand. So glad I speak NIN. :)

I hope this also coencides with the re-release of the Fragile. Can't wait to hear it in 5.1 as Trent said it sounded amazing. For those that haven't followed NIN, they've made plenty of music well past the 90's so I don't really get the revival comments. Check out "With Teeth", "Year Zero", or "The Slip" as they we're all great albums. The Slip was released in 08 I believe. Trent just needed some time away from NIN but during that time has gotten married, had kids, started a new band, worked on the new QOTSA album and the Sound City soundtrack, won back to back Grammy awards, etc.

Awesome news. Saw them for the first time the night before the election in 2008. One of the 5 best shows I've ever seen.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

  • That video floored me when I first saw it.

There was no mention of an album release date or scope, I presume we will get one before year's end?

I listened to the HTDA album and it's pretty good. You have to be in the mood for it but it is good stuff. No match for NIN of course ;)

It would be cool to see Trent revert back to his old violent stage antics, as long as he doesn't knock Adrian Belew to the ground.....he is 64 years old!
