I asked this in a thread yesterday. There shouldn't be if people with it as their 2nd choice got them, right?
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

pretty much- you could only get it as a #2 if all the #1's sold and there were extras

Sure there could be, if you didn't get selected in the lottery it doesn't matter what your choices were.

They're right. If they were choosing only from among those who listed it as their first choice, then the only way someone who had it as second choice would get tickets were if all the first choicers were gone.

Exactly, so if you put lower bowl as your first choice you were GUARANTEED tickets in this mess of a lottery. Hindsight is 20/20 but I did not understand this stupid lottery and I would never have put GA as my first choice had it been properly explained. FYI, I don't see how you can really call it a lottery when you do it the way they did it.

I still don't get "the lottery"

It was three separate lotteries, one for each section. If you had GA as your #1 and Field as #2 and did not get GA seats, you had to wait until everyone that put Field as their #1 got those tickets. If there were any left, which looks like there were some, then the people that had Field as #2 got random selection for those. That is why so many that put GA as their #1 got shut out. They missed out on the GA tix and had to fight for the scraps in the Field lottery.

I thought it worked like this:

    *IF* you are selected:
if there are any tickets available for your # 1 choice, you get a pair.
if # 1 is not available, you get tickets for your # 2 choice, etc...

    Where does it say differently?

    Under Tickets FAQ -
Q: How does the show priority selection factor in to the drawing?

A: For each show we will randomly draw members who have made that show their #1 priority. If any tickets remain the system will randomly draw names of members who have chosen that show as their #2 priority, and so on until every ticket for a given show has been sold.

By checking what tickets fans got and what they had for #1 and #2. Every one with Field as #1 got a ticket, suppose they wouldn't as manny with GA as #1 had field as #2 and didn't get tickets.

I kinda assumed that was how it was going to happen... which is why I took GA second after lower bowl.

This show is a little unique since it's 3 lotteries for the same event.

But when you look at it for a full tour:
    - Everyone with their first show will have the best chance at that show. Only people who picked it #1 will be in a lottery for that show.
    - If tickets run out, like, say a MSG show, only 1st picks will have a chance at winning.
    - If tickets don't run out after that round of lottery, then people with 2nd picks will be in a lottery for remaining inventory. This plays well for a multiple-night stop in a place like Chicago.
    - If for some reason there's still low demand, the 3rd picks will get a chance to pick up some goods. That way if demand isn't there for a show in something like a Minneapolis, they will still try getting as many 10c sold.

This makes everyone have a good chance at getting one show on a tour, as long as you're not fighting for the ones in high-demand. More 10c members get a chance at scoring something with decent seats, and if you're the type that does multiple stops you might have to slum it with the common people for a few shows. ;)

That's what I did. I was too nervous to put GA first and get shut out altogether. No freaking clue if that's the way it worked or not!
