Lets also remember that The Simpsons started out in '87 on the Tracey Ullman Show and technically is a late 80's cartoon ('89)...Along w/ Family Guy and King of the Hill, I'd consider them sitcoms, animated sure, but superior to the cartoon :D

The fact Pinky and the Brain proper was left off is sad...

oh god! if ever there was impetus to take over the world its ommission from this list.:lol:

disagree with the simpsons being an 80s cartoon though. i spent the entire 90s watching the simpsons with my 2 eldest daughters.

Doug seemed like the only Nick cartoon they left off and to me was the absolute fucking best. Even has a pretty hilarious movie trailer spoof

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XoKD8Gh-tE

I can't believe Ren and Stimpy made it. I loved it, but it was pretty wild for kids.

Spongebob has no place here. It didn't start til 99

Captain Planet, fucking really? That is atrocious. It's a good one to make fun of. Probably one of the worst ever.

And way too much anime. Pick the best one and make room for other cartoons that people gave shit about.

Where's the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle love? Seems like and obvious miss.

Animaniacs is a great, but surprising choice for top spot. I always had to watch the theme song to see what they switched the last line to and the show itself was hilarious. Pinky and the Brain was no doubt classic and this is where it got it's start. The other extras were solid as well.

Whoever came up with this list had a very deprived and crappy childhood.

I'm too old for this list. I need an 80s list. :?

My buddy's wife is 10 years younger than him. It's scary to be hanging out with them and all of a sudden they reminisce about childhood tv shows I was in college for.. Makes one feel old.
