The volume of stuff people put in their carry on luggage is unbelievable.

I have become guilty of this too since airlines charge for checked bags. I try to take everything in a carry on if I can. Have to get up at 4am tomorrow to head to the airport for San Fran, ugh. I'm hoping I don't get stuck next to a talker, I just want to get on the plane and hopefully go back to sleep. Not looking forward to the long day of travelling.

    San Francisco, eh? ;)

I told you about this remember? :) Just landed, my bag did not, its in Houston. Have more travel horror stories already. Took off from Indy and started smelling smoke and smoke detector went off, captain started to turn around and head back but said nah it isn't that far to Chicago lets keep going...

There's only one thing worse than some annoying kid kicking the back of your seat during a flight — and that's your seat taking flight!

Unfortunately, passengers aboard not one, but two different American Airlines flights had that dreaded experience of their seats coming loose mid-flight at the weekend.

The first incident took place on Saturday night on a flight from Boston to Miami, when seats suddenly came unbolted in mid-air.

The passengers were moved to other seats (thankfully they were stationary), but the plane was diverted and had to make an emergency landing at New York's JFK Airport.

Loose seats were again discovered on a second flight between New York flight and Miami, sparking concerns about the state of American Airlines' carriers.

While no-one was harmed in either incident, passengers were still shocked by the bizarre occurrence.

"The seats flipped backwards," one passenger, who chose to remain anonymous, told ABC News in the US. Watch the video above to hear her description of the crazy "legs-in-the-air" moment.

American Airlines has taken eight of its aircraft off the runways for inspection, and the Federal Aviation Administration is looking into both incidents.

Flying seats: We can add that to our growing list of things we hate most about flying ...

it doesn't help when your plane arrives late and then you have to run across the airport to make your next flight because it's on the other side of the airport

Why is it that a checked bag can only weigh 50 pounds but there's no weight restriction on passengers or carry on bags?
