Is Eddie Vedder one of the top 10 Rock n Roll singers ever?

contributing factors in determining this are obviously a singers vocals, showmanship, stage presence, chemistry with his/her band and body of work over the entirety of his/her career, any musicianship should not be taken into account, strictly mic in hand on stage

My top 10 list is:
1. Mick Jagger
2. Robert Plant
3. Freddy Mercury
4. Bono
5. Steve Perry
6. Steven Tyler
7. Eddie Vedder
8. Ozzy Osbourne
9. James Hetfield
10.Jon Bon Jovi

I am sure there is much room for debate on this, try to respect people's choices, as misguided as some may be

Howlin' Wolf was a blues singer a damn good one I might add, but we are talking Rock n Roll here, this is will get off track if we start including all forms of music, obviously if we start including blues and pop and soul as well as any other form of music you can think, then this will just become lame and everyone will just naming the 10 best vocalists, that is not what this thread is meant to find out, don't need Whitney Houston's name coming in here

Freddie Mercury-undeniably the most technically gifted singer in rock history, nobody could hold a crowd like him, and such a huge imprint on the sound of the whole band

Robert Plant-what a fucking range and so influential, so many moments from their albums where he, out of all of them, still give me goosebumps

Roger Daltrey-Won't fucking Get fucking Fooled A-fucking-gain

Eddie Vedder-such a unique voice and so emotive it's sickening

Maynard James Keenan- so great dynamically, can be delicate and raging from one line to the next, and the phrasing and delivery is so unique

Chris Robinson- great mix all the classic blues based singers with swagger for ages

Chris Cornell- like a heavy metal Robert Plant

    Gilmour/Waters combo-such a perfect yin and yang

Well then we should go ahead and scratch Steve Perry, Bono, and Jon Bon Jovi.

To answer the OP's original question and title of this thread - YES, Ed has to be considered 1 of the Top 10 Rock n Roll singers of all time. Range, emotion, control, power, impact, phrasing, etc...
Love seeing everyone else's personal faves pop up here too..
AMAZED to get through this list so far and no love for James Brown  ...
Before you all start on (this is rock n roll, blah, blah, blah) --> he IS in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame (for what that's worth).
AMAZED to get through this list so far and no love for Janis Joplin  ...
AMAZED to get through this list so far and no love for Jeff Buckley  ...
AMAZED to get through this list so far and no love for Prince  ...
AMAZED to get through this list so far and no love for John Lennon  ...
No Ronnie James Dio? Dennis DeYoung? Van Morrison?
I love TOOL, but I'd put all of the aforementioned way ahead of MJK...
Ever? Not the last 30 yrs, not just grunge. Rock n roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Keep this thread going!

I'd say MJK tops Ed and alot of others in all those categories except range and they are pretty neck and neck emotionally. Not to mention, I think MJK has been quite a bit more influential and is much more original.

James Brown isn't rock. Madonna is in the Rnr HoF too so I don't think they have a firm grasp of that. I'd kinda put Prince in this category as well. He rocks a little bit more, but I've always thought of him more in the r&b realm.
Janis Joplin isn't great singer. Influential as they get and a trailblazer
Dio, Buckley(from the little I've heard) and Van Morrison are definitely deserving.
Dennis Deyoung, I like Styx more than most here, but I've always thought his voice while great, was a little cheesy.

Now that I give it more thought...... Jack White and Andy Wood
