Thought this was a good list to discover some great old/new indie music.

I'm just amazed that Doves' Lost Souls album didnt make the list. Thats ridiculous.

I am pleased to see The Moon & Antarctica in the top 20. One of my favorites, for sure.
  • i agree its a damn good list of quality and amazing albums of the past 15 years. I have pretty much every single album on the list, so this list mirrors my own music taste. I wanted to see more pop albums beyond 21, future sex, and fever on the list. And was surprised OKC and not KID A seems to be the most loved radiohead album. ive been obsessed with tool lately, and pitchfork has never liked tool, doesnt seem like their readers like them either, but lateralus has to be one of the best records of all time, and you could also throw in aenima as well from 96

pitchfork is a niche market so most of their readers aren't PJ or gaslight anthem fans.. I would have preferred more Ryan Adams though.

Predictable list, but as the previous poster said, it's a niche market and predictable lists are the outcome...didn't reveal anything that hasn't already been known or anything too suprising (apart from 88% male votership).

not surprised about the 88% male readers at pitchfork.. seems the majority of nerdy music listeners are male...

Dunno anything about Pitchfork, but great to see Radiohead feature so strongly, I cant stop listening to them. Good to see Nevermind not heading the list, for a change.

It's top albums since the inception of Pitchfork, which began in 1996. Nirvana was DQ'd from the start.

Pitchfork is all about "indie music" Pearl jam would never be on a pitchfork list. The reason why radiohead is there is because they are actually considered indie just becuase they are extremely experimental.
