EV Record Store Day 7"

I know this is a long shot but if anyone has a chance to grab a copy of this on Saturday and send to New Zealand I would be very grateful - no problem to PayPal the $$.

I'll have no chance of getting my hands on one of these over here in small town NZ so any help would be awesome.

I'm so sick of this already... I called the two indy stores nearby... one isnt getting any at all (they ordered them but were allocated zero) and another told me to come Saturday but they wouldnt check anything beforehand.

There's a store auctioning them off on ebay, there are other stores that are getting decent amounts when smaller stores get zero.

grr... I hope they wind up being available on some level, but man its crazy to only do 1,500 copies!

Hopefully we can find some online stores this weekend and everyone can get one that way - you never know!

Yeah just found out today my local store (who is usually great for this day) isn't getting any and the next closest store that I could even get to is 2 hours away, which may not get it either.

Definitely trying to sound desperate, so if anyone could grab me an Eddie 7" and a po & the four fathers 7". I would be ever so greatful. I'll pay cost and shipping obviously.

Please help.

I would also take the star Anna 7" too but don't want to push my luck.

I think so... they'll be flooded on ebay this weekend. I just dont know where the price ends up, but I would be SHOCKED if they came anywhere near a 91 single...

Thanks to those that have offered to try and grab an extra copy. I love the idea of RSD but with the really limited (and geographically limited) editions it just makes it impossible for some fans to even have a chance at adding some nice items to our collections. I'd also love a copy of Sigur Ros - Hvaaf/Heima on coloured 12" but its limited to the US too. Would be great if there was an online preorder/pick up at your local record store system or something??

I kind of hope it is that way. As much as I'd like to buy extras to get to fan club members, what's not saying that by buying a bunch of them, I'm not taking one away from a member that shows up to the store after me and can't get one?

A store in Massachusettes is selling their copies online (and a ton of other RSD stuff, too)... they got EIGHT copies when stores near me got ZERO.

It makes me hate RSD... its hard enough fighting the people who are going to hoard everything to flip, but to fight the stores themselves is just frustrating. Especially when my local stores are getting none of them... :fp:

FWIW, the store selling their stuff online is spinnaker records in hyannis, ma. I'm hoping they get kicked from the RSD program in the future, although I doubt they ever would.

i talked to the guy who does rsd orders at my preferred local shop and he had some interesting comments-

they had not yet recieved their pj-related rsd releases, though they'd already received most of the other rsd merch. the distributor that the pj-related releases were coming from had issues with their releases last year in that they did not allot their volume very well- he said they did a first-come-first-serve method in filling orders as opposed to metering distribution. this meant that some stores received their full request (and most stores order FAR more than they expect to get) while most others got none. based on what we're seeing with this ebay thing and the reports on here of stores getting shut out of everything, it's not looking promising that these are going to be easy to find.

he also mentioned that warners had sent out a notice saying the flaming lips release may not be ready in time for rsd. i talked to him on saturday, so there is still time, but if you're looking for that, i'd recommened calling ahead to see if your store got them- it is possible that no one will get them in time.

Got confirmation today that the place I'm going to didn't get any of these in either. So I'm hoping they at least get in a decent amount of other stuff as well so it's not a total waste waiting for awhile :P

if you go onto ebay and type in "vedder" under the advanced search and you have to click "completed listings", it looks like that record store in mass sold WAAAAAY more than eight. I counted at least 20

Makes you think there will be plenty of these to go around. Or maybe not...RSD is getting way too stressful lately. I almost don't want to bother dealing with the crowds that hit these record stores once a year.

The record store I go to opens at 10am on RSD. I usually get there an hour before and I am always one of the first 5 people in line.

Surprise surprise not available in the Uk. Not to worry, bought the flaming lips, the clash, leonard cohen and Bob Marley so it was an excellent haul but all the same little bit gutted none from the PJ family made it down to devon, but still, was great to hang out and chat PJ with the record store fellas this morn...it was quiet quiet & I was browsing around then 'Foxy lady' -Randomly came on and they started smiling at me. My new favourite place

The Newbury Comics I went to this morning had about 10 copies, but limited all RSD titles to one per person.
I'm sure in a few days when the hype dies down these won't be too hard to get.
