I had an amazing night. It was my first show in a very long time. After e show, on the ride back to NY, I grabbed the iPad and wrote down my immediate thoughts. I had planned on posting here but it got far too lengthy to put here. It's a pretty in depth review of the night and my experiences from row 1, seats 25 and 26.

I truly felt it was a night for the fans. Laura had a huge shout out, as did the girl to my right when she had requested Come Back. From where we stood, it was an emotional night and The band did nothing but connect... It was fantastic.

    Here's my night:

Brutal. Sorry to hear that. Some people have no class.

You'd have been close to me! I was row 15, middle section, seats 11 and 12.

And yes. Ottawa crowds are brutal most nights. We rarely sell out concerts (there were lots of empty seats up the 300's near the back and side stage last night) and we are very laid back unfortunately. Wite collar and political town. Guess that's what you get. As mentioned, even during hockey games alot of people don't even cheer much when (or should I say "if") the Senators score :?

Also, the location of Scotiabank Place sucks, so that may factor in too. Most people drive out and leave early to beat traffic . . . . It's a shame.

  • Wow that was an amazing show. I have a pretty decent fanclub number (in the 130's) so I thought I would get decent seats, but when the lady at the booth told me we had first row it totally blew my mind. It was like a whole different experience since instead of looking at one or two spots where you can actually see, I was able to see everything (other than Boom since he was behind a speaker from my vantage point). I was basically right in front of Stone, so when Ed and Mike came to my side for the end of Alive, they were a little more than arms length from me. The set list was pretty good I thought. And I was glad to see that the arena seemed to be more full than it did in 05, since my big worry was since that show didn't sell too well they were going to never come back. Either way though it was awesome and I think my ears are still ringing slightly. Also the guys from Boston who were sitting next to us were hilarious. If either of those guys is on here, it looks like you got pretty good pictures.

Ok so it was no Ottawa 2005...but not many shows are.

Another terrific show, my first and only show on this tour. Loved the rocking main set, highlights were Breath for sure and an amazing Corduroy. Actually i absolutely loved The Real Me...was super glad to get that one and not Rockin/Baba.

Thanks 10c...12th row floor was terrific! The crowd was somewhat lame but as has already been mentioned its kind of to be expected in Ottawa (05 was the exception).

    Till next time!

She was just next to me. My friend yelled "Take it off", and... well... she did. Jeff Ament seemed pretty amused as he went to see Ed and asked him if he noticed what just happened.

When we crossed the border to go into Canada, the Canadian officer asked 'I wonder if there are actually going to be any Canadians at the show - everyone crossing right now is going to Pearl Jam!'.

On the way back, the US officer asked 'purpose of the trip', and I said to see a show. 'Pearl Jam?' he asked..hehehe. I guess there were a lot of us crossing last night heh.

Now that I've had a LITTLE sleep (all of 5 hours), I can say again it was a great show - the sequence someone mentioned above, that included Whipping, and Grievance and Breath was a favorite of mine too. Did anyone feel like they were going to play Daughter (Jeff had his upright bass) and then Ed says 'see if you guys know this one' and plays about 3 notes of Off He Goes, and everyone cheers, and so they go into that (which I was delighted about).

This was the closest I've ever been on my 10 club number. I've won lottery before, but I was 12th row legit from my 10 club number and it was thrilling!

It is my last show until they tour again, but what a great one. I love this band

Edit - I loved hearing The Real Me.

these shows regarding song selection is reminding me of the 2005 canadian tour where the same body of songs is played with a few different ones . i really hope they change this up tonight. i don't want to hear the fixer for the third time or just breathe . please make this show memorable.

I yelled that too . . . jokingly. Not loud enough for her to hear, but she did as soon as I yelled it :) We were pretty much directly behind her (about 5 rows behind) so I didn't see much of anything :D

I forgot about that! Yeah something along the lines of "I'll play the first few notes and judging by your reaction, we'll see if we should play it"... wonder what they would have done if we all booed?

I heard Stone, I think, play a chord from Daughter to see if we in tune so I thought it was coming, but yeah Off He Goes was awesome, its way better than either End or Just Breathe

I was row 17 Mike's side so 4 rows back of the flasher, security shortly thereafter came over and told him to put her down and I believe tried to kick them out, but he refused, then he called for back-up and since YB was playing, just let it be.

Did anyone else notice that Ed broke his mike stand smashing it into the stage at the end of Alive? The bottom probably broke. He then grinned and showed Jeff and he chuckled too. Ed assumed the show was over and picked up his notebook and wine and then Mike hit the first note of YB and he looked back and kind of said, with his face expression "oh shit another tune, and I've broken the mike stand" lol

  • this was my sixth pj show and by far my best seats from 10C, we were eighth row and dead center and it was a totally different experience seeing them from there. got to hear a few songs I hadn't before like breath and low light which was a bonus.

one of my favorite ed moments was when introducing matt cameron, he started by saying "there's a lot of bands that come through town, but none of them have matt cameron on drums" then a pause, then "oh fuck, except for soundgarden" - soundgarden played bluesfest here in july.

overall a great night, thanks ten club!

Ed didn't just break it, he practically drop kicked the damn thing! haha

Ed was definitely working hard last night to get the crowd going...i'm amazed at his energy.
