Just got done watching Foo Fighters show from Letterman on Late Show website. So cool that the guys played dressed as the Beatles with the old Beatles stage setup. I love the Beatles and it's cool that they wanted to do this. They rocked for 109 minutes. New music is awesome and the whole show was just killer.

If you look at Taylor's bass drum, it has the Foo Fighters written like The Beatles logo. So, my guess is it was a nod to The Beatles, especially when you consider they were in the Ed Sullivan Theatre.

So it was FF's nod to Nirvana that was a nod to the Beatles. Or something like that.

It's a nod to the Beatles. Dave even says so later in the set.

Great set, BTW. Lots of their hits and a cool version of Stacked Actors
