Ten Club vs. The Warehouse
I would say from a fanatical standpoint PJ and Dmb are quite similar.....not quality of music and the fact a DMB show is really a big Abercrombie commercial. However, their fan club and Phish I might add have it down to a science. PJ is still a top twenty band in the world. Shouldn't we borrow some tips of the trade that work for other clubs?

You know, I joined the WH last year because I was dying to see a concert at Wrigley Field and was able to get fanclub seats to both DMB shows at Wrigley. Mind you, they were some of the worst seats I've ever had (and I really should have thought about the douchiness of both DMB fans and Cubs fans all in one place - BAD idea). The way that they do it is there's a time period of a few weeks where you can request seats to shows and I *think* they randomly select people who are going to get the tickets. If you win, you are charged automatically and they mail the tickets to you. I don't think seniority factors in, but it could be that they did it differently just because of the specialness of Wrigley, but it was really easy to get tickets. However, even with all the issues we've come to know about getting 10C seats, I prefer it any day. It seems to me like the WH just lobs out as many fanclub tickets that there are a demand for, resulting in pretty bad seats. Yeah, it's hard to get 10C seats sometimes, but we're pretty much guaranteed the best seats in the house. Just my 2 cents!WI '98, WI '99 (EV), WI '00, Chgo '00, MO '00, Champaign '03, Chgo '03, WI '03, IN '03, MI '04, Chgo '06:N1 & 2, WI '06, Chgo '07, Chgo '08 (EV:N1), Chgo '09:N1 & 2, Chgo '11 (EV:N1), WI '11:N1 & 2, Philly '12, Wrigley '13, Pitt '13, Buff '13, Detroit '14, MKE '14, Wrigley '16: N1 & N2, Seattle '18 N2, Wrigley '18: N1 & N2, Fenway '18 N1, STL '22, St Paul '23 N2, Chgo '23: N1 & N2, Wrigley '24 N1 & 20 -
Here is how the wh works:
1. There is a request period for a few weeks and then a lottery takes place to either confirm or deny you tickets. You know if you have tickets before public on-sale but don't know location until a later date. All tickets are seniority for one night shows. If the band is doing a 2 night stand then one of the nights is random and the other seniority based. Certain shows are harder to get due to demand. Tickets are scattered throughout the venue. So if you join today expect a crappy seat on a one night show. Not saying younare joining.
Also the comparison of wrigley field to a 3000 seat venue is just stupid. Nobody should expect a good seat in a baseball stadium where the whole field is ga. Before you complain about getting shitty seats, do your research.0 -
I dropped my Warehouse membership a couple years ago. As I've gotten older I've lost my tolerance for the crowd at DMB shows. The Warehouse always worked well for me for tickets though. I was a member for many years, and never missed out on Warehouse tickets to any show, and always had good seats. The seats were seniority based and they got much better over the years. I've had about a 50% success rate getting tickets through Ten Club. Maybe there is something to learn from the Warehouse system. I'm not knocking Ten Club at all, but the site cannot handle the volume on ticket sale day, so maybe something should be changed.0

My wife is in the warehouse and as far as getting tickets it is a lot less stressful. The Wrigley shows were a different thing becasue when they were first announced they were the last shows that DMB was playing for a year. I know that when DMB plays two dates at the same venue one show is random and the other is seniority. But the fact that they ship the tix to people makes me believe there is a lot of flipping. I believe when the presale starts you can request a section but doesn't mean you will get that section (ie pit, best available) but you will get tix. Or at least we always have been able to. It also seems that DMB caters to the travelers of multiple shows. A couple years ago we saw them at Busch Stadium and at Alpine both nights and that was the year we got our best seats. Unlike me with PJ my wife has been a warehouse member since the late 90's. The stupidest thing that DMB did was this past year at Alpine they had prefered lawn. That was a joke. It was a section of lawn blocked off by that orange plastic fence that you see near constrution site. Inside this section people got in fights because they would show up half way through DMBs first or second song and say "I have preferred lawn and I should be in the front of this section" and shove their way in. Then about five songs in they took the fence down and the rest of the lawn flooded into you. Starting to really hate the crowds at the DMB shows. The one thing I wish PJ would do like DMb, and they did it in the past, I wish the fan tickets were different then the Ticketmaster crap. It may be stupid but for a stub saver it makes them more interesting to display.
Enough about DMB. There is nothing I hate more than having to keep jamming the refresh button have tix get kicked out losing tix refresh. It is really makes me miss going to Tower Records (r.i.p.) getting my ticket for a random drawing to by tickets to different shows.0 -
WH is painless and 10C is painful...when it comes to tix (been a member of each for 5 yrs)
i dont mind not getting tix for 10C if they just sold out in a minute - then it would be win some/lose some (but refreshing for 90min and having tix multiple times get kicked out of my cart w/o my permission is hogwash and unfair to the consumer purchasing a membership and hundreds of dollars each yr in merch)2005: Borgata 2, Philly

Whoa, I wasn't even trying to compare wrigley to the EV shows, just explaining what my experience with the WH was. I also specifically stated that I had just joined and wasn't sure what normal protocol was. Isn't everyone just a bundle of joy to be around here in the 10C boards...WI '98, WI '99 (EV), WI '00, Chgo '00, MO '00, Champaign '03, Chgo '03, WI '03, IN '03, MI '04, Chgo '06:N1 & 2, WI '06, Chgo '07, Chgo '08 (EV:N1), Chgo '09:N1 & 2, Chgo '11 (EV:N1), WI '11:N1 & 2, Philly '12, Wrigley '13, Pitt '13, Buff '13, Detroit '14, MKE '14, Wrigley '16: N1 & N2, Seattle '18 N2, Wrigley '18: N1 & N2, Fenway '18 N1, STL '22, St Paul '23 N2, Chgo '23: N1 & N2, Wrigley '24 N1 & 20 -

Calm down. She stated the seats were bad, that is all. Read and comprehend before you lash out.___________________________________________
