BLACKBALLED BY DWHITE

I've given away lots of stuff... contributed to most holy graIL crusades... and traded successfully dozens of times with all but one person on one occassion here on the boards in the last 7 or 8 years... but i'm not worthy of being on the decent guys to trade with list... i've clearly been framed by the framer. no pun intended. clearly, this is just a list, but it's slightly insulting. now why i not bitching?

    OK you want to go this way.
    Heres the deal. You sold a poster. You should of sent the poster. You didnt. You figured you got one from the 10 club and were going to sell the one you got from the show.. You didnt get one at the show so you refunded him the money. He is out a poster. Granted he got the money back, But he relied on you to deliver. Does that make you reliable. Ill let the people decide.

    Plus Im not the overseer. Do you care if ur on the list No. Did I think the list would grow like this no. I just go by whats on the boards. Shit I think your right. I shouldn't have ultimate control over the list. Lets make a comity. Im about the most fair person youll meet. :D

    Well, since this thread is questioning dwhite's honor, and claiming to be "framed by the framer", I'll respectfully throw my hat in the ring. ("hat in the ring" is a saying... right?)


    Anyway... here's my experience with the OP. Lots of detail, and even more in the links.


    He started a thread offering to sell his Philly Halloween poster. He bought it from the pre-sale and he said that he didn't want it, that it's "not my style at all". Also said "i'll take the worst ever klausen over this garbage anyday. how do people like this set. it's a amazing. they are awful."

    This was on October 28th 2009.


    I gladly contacted him, and paid him $50 for the poster. He was asking more than face, but I figured that if it saves me the time to get one at the Halloween show, then it was worth the extra 66% markup.

    He wanted payment right away... Sure! No problem. On October 28th I paid him in full. Paid... Done... phew! One less thing to do at the Halloween show.

    He even said not to worry, that "You're in good hands". Phew! A cool board member - I'm in good hands! I'm set!


    On October 31st (3 days after he sold it to me) the Halloween show happens. It's awesome! ...lots of posters for sale... but I don't need one! :D I bought one from Starmap3333! I'm all set! ...maybe the tube with the poster will already be waiting for me when I get back! :)


    On November 1st I get back from the show.
    No tube. No problem. Mail takes some time. :?


    On November 2nd I check my email.
    A note from Starmap3333, not in my PM box, but in a paypal message saying:
    "wasn't able to get one at the show itself... sorry dude"


    ....Wasn't able to get one at the show? Well, that's ok, because I wasn't buying one from the show. I was buying the one he bought from the presale.

    I let him know: "Send me the one which Ten Club is sending you. That's the one you were offering. That's the one I paid you for. I can't exactly get one NOW, two days after the show happened."

    He refused to send me what he sold me. He decided he now wanted the poster, after it was now sold out from the presale, and after the event concluded. AND he was using an excuse which doesn't hold water; that he "wasn't able to get one at the show itself". (Some board members were speculating that he was trying to sell posters bought at the show, for profit, which is why he was asking $20 over face)

    Then I said:
    "I am expecting that poster to arrive from you"

    And his reply:
    "you've received a full refund and i've decided to keep it because of the nature of the show. don't you EVER tell ME what I'm going to do. Cease contact with me immediately."


    I started the below thread, to A) try to get him to send me what he sold me and B) warn others about his very loose ethics on selling.

    It's a long read, but that thread does make things clear, with a number of board members condemning Starmap3333 for what he was choosing to do.

    So... the question after all of this....

    Would YOU, or any reasonable board member, consider Starmap3333 to be "A+ people" regarding buying/trading, after knowing this happened? Or less than A+?

    How would it feel if 10 club refunded ur pearl jam ticket money and said to bad some one in the office wanted to go so we used ur tix.

    hoff is obviously someone who will never let go of things. he harbors ill feelings to the end, and that's fine. that doesn't mean i'm not decent to deal with, which i obviously am. so... on with the show. i'm flattered however, hoff, that you've once again spent 20 minutes compiling a post trying to prove what is summarized as "guy pays for poster, poster getter gets drunk, poster getter decides he wants to keep his ONLY copy, poster getter refunds money, poster buyer gets same said poster for $37.50 from 10c anyway".

    "That poster will be, or has been, delivered.

    I expect the Halloween poster I purchased from you to arrive to me."

    remember this? your statements are god-like statement and you are no god. this was after i simply told you i apologized and refunded your money. it's that simple bub. anyway... thanks to those who know the extenuating circumstances of life and such and especially those who know that people make mistakes but whether or not you make amends is what really matters. no point in making amends with grudge holding black ballers.

    So if someone did this to you with a Benny Hall vinyl set that ended up being worth over $1000 it would be OK with you?

    Not taking sides here, just wondering. I've yet to trade/buy/sell on the forums.

    if someone "did this" to me i would think it sucked but i would understand if there was a valid reason and, in this case there was one. it's made to sound like i killed somebody. it's a fucking poster. guaranteed he got one anyway. all remained as should have been.

    Yes you are correct in ways people should for give. But Not forget. I do believe you have done good in your life and have had many good trades. I admitted that my thread is not perfect and is in its infancy. I dont know how to go about some one with a blemish on his buying/selling. Should an asterisk go by your name. I dont know. Im sorry you happen to be the first case like this. Im pretty sure it wont be the last. The thread is just a reference. We dont have a hand shake or membership card. The 1 rule. Dont be an ass hole :D (I believe Eddie said that first but I dont think he'll mind if I use it) :D

    I didn't get one from 10c for $37.50. I was shut out on the presale. That's why I bought yours - prior to the show, so I wouldn't have to get it at the show.

    A board member read about what you did, and did part with theirs. And this boils down to trust in trading. And I think your below quote sums it up accurately.

    I have sent a PM to Starmap3333 stating how true it is people need to forgive. The list is not perfect. I have no grudge against him. I dont know the Hoff any more than I know Starmap333. I have stated I shouldn't be the only one who decides who is on the list or not. I would love for 2 others to make the call with me. Its a list from the people By the people for the people. :D

    Totally agree with CJMST3K!

    Hey, board members, I need drinking money until payday next week. Can someone swing me a $50, and I'll refund it in a few days. In the meantime I'll think about giving you a sticker, and if I do, I ain't giving the $50 back! Got it from TenClub for $2, but I'm charging more due to the fact I've had it stored at my place.

    Whilst on this, the poster dude is bad enough and should be booted from the Ten Club for buying something purely to flip! And if you don't like it, you shoulda passed it on for cost price to someone else who liked it. Even after the show, in arguing the hype, he admits to still thinking it is ugly.
