If I remember correctly, Arc DC night 1 was not successful, but Arc night 2 was hauntingly amazing. I went home that night feeling I had witnessed something truly remarkable, watching him lay down the tracks and create it right there in front of us. Perfection. Can't wait to revisit that moment.

For Dream a Little Dream, d'ya think Ed's going to emulate Mama Cass, Doris Day or Satchmo?
I'm going with one verse in the style of each...

The first Baltimore show the next year was when Arc was stopped. Arc was killer both nights in DC. Can't wait! Golden State was first played at the first Baltimore show as well if I remember correctly. I wonder if that's where the dvd version is from.
What's peoples guesses for when the pre-sale for the album starts?

I was there in Baltimore...I think he said something like, I'm just not feeling it....and I'd rather not fake it...or something to that effect....

Is it possible to melt a face on Uke?
Oops, yeah, guess I mixed that up. Was at both DC and Baltimore. Waiting to see Arc in all it's glory.
I wanna know how this will be sold in the U.S. Will walmart or bestbuy have it? Gonna get another deal with target? Or will it only be sold via web and indie stores?

Oh it's limited? i hope not. Don't have all day to be sitting hitting refresh on goods to make sure I get one
I think this is one record that really will sound beautiful on vinyl. Hope they do it.

No announcement on any edition yet, but I really hope that it won't be limited.
This is going to sound sacriligeous, I know. And I proudly wear my Analog t-shirt as much as the next person.
BUT, what's the deal with being enamored with vinyl? It's not like I'm young, though I'm sure some, including Eddie is 5 to 10 years older than me. So, you actually had vinyl while you were growing up like my older brothers. But, in the day and age when re-issues are being made so you can hear every nuance the artist intended, why would one purposely elect to downgrade their technology (cover art-size aside, which clearly is the one thing that is getting lost in the digital age).
Do you also still watch your black and white 13" set top box while the rest of us are watching ultra thin 60" wall mounted, stereo connected TV? Is the crackle really that alluring?
Someone please explain this to me. I will now begin ducking while gasps are inhaled and those new-fangled blu-ray players are tossed my way.....
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

I don't collect vinyl at all- but I imagine the vintage feel people like, and its another rare Pearl Jam thing for collectors to get....
And some people say it sounds better...
If you had No Code on vinyl you wouldn't have to ask this question. it is a fair question though.
just something about it..the physical contact of the needle on the vinyl, just creates a warmer fuller sound. Your cd's/mp3s are just a series of 1's and 0's on a file..something is lost in the translation.
The artwork is bigger and better and as the man said, it's like a little ritual taking the record out of the sleeve and putting on the turntable and poring over the artwork and sleeve notes as you listen.
If you grew up in the 70's onwards you had bands like the Who&Zeppelin (et al) really putting a lot of thought into their artwork and sounds, and that's a tradition carried don by Pj and a few other bands. (S/T aside hehe)
I spose it's a generational thing, but i dunno, there's just something magical about it and the ritual..way more romantic than hitting 'play' on a computer screen.
Playing vinyl is an experience, you have an emotional connection to the art.
I also like listening to the entire album start side one -> Flip -> Start side two -> End
You dont just choose a track and press play.
agreed. and EdsonNascimento, you actually are losing audio quality on cd and mp3. They do not recreate all the sound that's on the recordings. Listen to shine on you crazy diamond by floyd on cd and lp and you will def. hear the difference, esp in the synths. They look cooler, sound better, and imo create a more focused experience with the music.
I don't want to start a whole argument, and I guess to each his own is the best answer. But, I don't buy the better sound. I'm not sure my surround sound can get much warmer or fuller (though when they invent it, I'll be sure to invest). I hear nuances in songs I had listened to for years that I never heard because of the clarity of sound. I guess when you go to a live concert, you should have it filtered through a phonograph to get the richness of sound.
I also don't buy the it's an experience, I like to turn over the record. I don't push track numbers. I insert disc, the disc plays (or I upload the full album and click a button to play all), sit back, relax and enjoy while my system optimizes the sound of both the album (see? I do like using that word) and the room it's playing in (much less pausing when you do the ol' Dark Side/Wizard of Oz thingy).
To say one doesn't get an emotional connection this way is phony (yes, I am old enough to have had records and gone through the whole "experience."). I don't get any less emotionally attached to Stephen King's writing because I now read it on an iPad or to Cool Hand Luke, et. al because I watch it in High Def or to Elderly Lady because I have the full sound as Eddie and the boys intended without having to get out of my seat between tracks 6 and 7.
The one I do get is the initial - it's a collector's thing. Not my cup of tea, but so be it.
Otherwise, I guess I'll never understand. To each his or her own.
Sorry for hijacking the thread. Very excited and can't wait to hear the new stuff.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

I'm not sure either about face melting with a uke, but Can't Keep might be as close as I've ever seen in terms of face melting uke potential.
Agreed. It doesn't get better than Can't Keep on Uke.
that'd be cool.
I'd say for sure. And a non-limited edition vinyl would be even cooler

Sure, it's not for everyone, but I think the aye's have it.
Exactly! I guess at the very least I'm 1 less person you're competing with if it is a limited edition.
false. remasters generally sound LOUDER, which means less nuance.
