This might not be big news for most folks around here, but it really excites that Bob Seger is hitting the road this year. I saw him back in '06 and it was one of the best, most classy shows I've ever witnessed.

Of course, I'm unlikely to be able to go since I'm planning for PJ Fest....where's that money tree that needs shaking anyways?

I'd definitely go see Seeger if he hits my neck of the woods.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

This is great news...saw Seger on his last tour...great songwriter and performer, Alto Reed is awesome on the sax and Brewer on the drums, totally worth going. I get the added benefit of seeing him in Detroit and from past experience it will be multiple shows. As for PJ fest, I'll just have to make room for both, :D:D:D:D:D.

Seger is to the Midwest what Springsteen is to Jersey. Growing up in Kansas City, this guy was a God amongst the blue collar guys. I would love to see him perform.
  • I saw him in 2006 in Nashville and Knoxville, I'm only 22, and saw this guy twice my freshman year in college. Probably one of my favorite artists ever.
    Shows Attended
    2008 - Bonnaroo
    2009 - Chicago 1
2010 - St Louis, Columbus, Indianapolis, Washington D.C
2011 - Pearl Jam Twenty Festival
    2012 - Music Midtown Festival
2013 - Wrigley, Dallas, Oklahoma City
    2014 - St. Louis, Memphis
2016- Greenville, Lexington, Bonnaroo, Wrigley 1
  • ^^^ Lucky man....i'm not that much older than you but I had seen Clapton twice (as well as the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan--also two times) at that age and felt pretty damn blessed. I think Bob may be too far flung for me this time around though...the announcement says 'major cities' and I'm not sure Memphis or Little Rock fits that criteria...maybe New Orleans, but don't really like heading down there

    ***FIRST TWO DATES RELEASED***
    http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ ... s-20110201

    3/29 Saginaw
    3/31 Toledo

nice find led. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he hits northeast in April. I'm praying he hits the Tweeter in Mansfield because I love tailgating there, but I don't think they open until May. Damn I hope its not the Garden.
  • It's interesting to me that supposedly he was playing "major cities" but neither of those first two really fit that or maybe this southern boy has the wrong impression of those towns. Warm ups in small arenas is kind of what what sounds like to me.

I don't recall how extensive the previous tour was but I'm thinking he may hit the Midwest biggies, the northeast and the left coast...probably skipping the south.

It's gonna be a treat for all who get to go though. It's probably best if I can't go because I don't need to be tempted at all. Then again I would be so excited to go again

not going to lie, hoping he plays the classics. Night Moves, Against the Wind, Still Rock n Roll, Like a Rock (been a while since it's been played live), Katmandu, Old Time Rock n Roll, Hollywood Nights, Mainstreet, We've got tonight, and on and on. I know the hardcores want the obscures, but I'd rather hear the classics like a Petty show.
  • Unless he changes up what he did on the last tour you won't be disappointed at all
he threw in maybe 2...3...4 new songs then but the rest were all the classics

Got to agree. All those songs you mentioned are ones I'd love to hear.
